When we approach the area of health and personal care, we always have to pay more attention to dealing not only with lives, but also with unique human beings. The number of people in need of health care, whatever it may be, increases considerably year after year across the world. The advancement of technology, which is increasingly present, more notorious and more inserted in our routines, could not fail to have an expressive evolution in the medical field, especially in modern medicine. With the increase in needs along with the advancement of technology, researchers, developers and people from all over the academic field started to create a trend in research on IoT (Internet of Things) solutions to assist in the health care of each patient who needs more attention, thus proposing a better quality of life. In this context, this article presents a study based on a systematic mapping and review of the literature on IoT project initiatives, which join this technology with the health area along with medical solutions. Based on this integration, we can map and join the entire architectural aspect, evaluating the behavior, performance, flexibility and availability of an IoT application in healthcare and how these new technologies are being structured in the face of modern medicine, including their benefits. Based on this theme, coupling IoT solutions with the health area, general and specific objectives were specified, along with research questions that guided the systematic mapping in question. Given the results obtained, it is possible to identify and map gaps that require further exploration and the development of complementary research.
