Resumo: During the last decades, menstruation has changed in relation to its age of onset, one of the main causes of advancing menarche, is malnutrition during childhood. It can lead to obesity, which is one of the factors that cause endocrine changes in children and adolescents and this is involved in socio-economic development. This review aims to assess the average age of menarche in women and their nutritional and socioeconomic status. A systematic review was carried out, structured in stages of searching for materials related to menarche, nutrition, BMI and puberty in English, Portuguese and Spanish, selecting articles published in the last 10 years in the health area database. A flowchart was presented to elucidate the articles used based on the methodology searches. As a result, it was concluded that the mean age of menarche decreased, mainly related to overweight or obesity and related hormonal factors. It was possible to notice that more attention is needed in relation to the health and nutritional status of children, and the family should choose healthy foods and always follow up with the pediatrician.

Isso pode levar à obesidade que é um dos fatores causadores de alterações endócrinas em crianças e adolescentes e está envolvido no desenvolvimento socieconômico. Esta revisão tem como principal objetivo avaliar a média de idade da menarca em mulheres e seu estado nutricional e socioeconômico. Foi feita uma revisão sitemática estruturada em etapas de busca por materiais relacionados à menarca, à nutrição, ao IMC e à puberdade, em inglês, portugues e espanhol, selecionando artigos publicados nos últimos 10 anos em base de dados da aréa da saúde. Um fluxograma foi apresentado para elucidar os artigos utilizados com base nas buscas da metodologia. Como resultado, foi concluído que a média de idade da menarca diminuiu, principalmente relacionada a sobrepeso ou a obesidade e a fatores hormonais relacionados.
