In the last decades, discussions concerning the theme of sustainability, preservation and conservation of the ecosystem were highlighted, invoking the awakening of the social body to environmental awareness; In this scenario of perception and concern and as a precautionary measure, environmental certificates were introduced, with the proposal of the commitment and responsibility to choose buildings as sustainable or not. In the ranking of the countries that most converge sustainable construction, Brazil appears in fourth place, where a relevant portion of the certifications is dominated by the LEED certification due to the greater coverage within the sustainability methodization. The general objective of this study was to analyze the implementation of LEED certification (Lidership in Energy and Environmental Design) in a mapping of certified buildings in Curitiba - PR, analyzing the factors that influenced sustainable solutions for certification and, a brief study of LEED. The methodology used for the development of the study was exploratory research and standard research in qualitative and bibliographic molds. The research on the relevance of the object of study concludes that the certification is a tool adaptable to any proportion of buildings and when elaborated and applied, it is possible to obtain results and benefits strongly concentrated on sustainability, preservation and conservation of the ecosystem, valuing better for society.
