Análise da acessibilidade dos rebaixamentos das calçadas de um trecho do eixo monumental da cidade de Maringá - PR

Accessibility is a word that signifies the character of what is accessible, being something that is attainable or easily accessible, it is a term known for emphasizing the rights of those whose mobility is reduced, whether due to some type of disability or momentary need. Such a right is guaranteed by article 227, § 2 of the Brazilian Constitution. Civil engineering as well as architecture, or any area related to urbanism, currently has the mission of obeying the rules regarding the correct use of accessibility, in view of the advancement of the current legislation with emphasis on this theme that affect people's lives so much from small to big cities. The objective of this work was to analyze the current situation of accessibility, specifically in relation to the access ramps to the public promenade in the stretch located on Avenue Getúlio Vargas between Avenue Brasil and Avenue XV de Novembro, a stretch belonging to the Monumental Axis of Maringá- Pr. The study was carried out based on the Brazilian Standard ABNT NBR 9050: 2020 (Accessibility to buildings, furniture, spaces and urban equipment), in order to assess the current condition of accessibility of the access ramps of the sidewalks of this stretch, using the methodologies for data collection and measurement present in that standard, thus demonstrating the irregularities existing in the area with respect to the accessibility of the population.
