TRANSFORMATIVE MEDIATION AND SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL CONFLICTS: EMPOWERMENT AND ALTERITY FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS

Resumo: The relationship between the mediation of transformative conflicts and the effective development of environmental awareness is investigated. Research investigates whether transformative mediation may produce individual processes of self-reflection for the preservation of the environment. Transformative mediation, permeated by empowerment and alterity, may effectively increase environmental awareness. Mediation of institutionalized conflicts as social pacification within a scenario of high conflicts is discussed. The characterizing aspects of transformative mediation are detailed. Current inductive and qualitative research is based on documental and bibliographical resources. Results show that the application of transformative mediation to environmental conflicts may potentialize the formation of awareness for environmental protection.

El problema de investigación es discutir sobre si la mediación transformativa puede generar procesos individuales de autorreflexión volcados a la preservación ambiental. Se parte de la hipótesis que la mediación transformativa, impregnada por el empoderamiento y la alteridad, puede efectivamente posibilitar el aumento de la concientización ambiental. De primero, se aborda sobre la mediación de conflictos institucionalizada, la opción por la pacificación social en un escenario de alta disputa. Después, se pormenoriza los aspectos característicos de la mediación transformativa. Por fin, se analiza la relación entre empoderamiento, alteridad y consciencia ambiental. El método de investigación es el inductivo, con abordaje cualitativo y técnica bibliográfica y documental. Se concluye que la aplicación de la mediación transformativa a los conflictos ambientales puede potencializar la formación de consciencias volcadas a la protección ambiental.O presente artigo objetiva a análise da relação entre a mediação de conflitos transformativa, e o desenvolvimento efetivo da consciência ambiental. Tem como problema de pesquisa perquirir sobre se a mediação transformativa pode gerar processos individuais de autorreflexão voltados para a preservação ambiental. Parte-se da hipótese que a mediação transformativa, permeada pelo empoderamento e a alteridade, pode efetivamente possibilitar o aumento da conscientização ambiental. Primeiramente, aborda-se sobre a mediação de conflitos institucionalizada, enquanto opção pela pacificação social em um cenário de alta litigiosidade. Em seguida, são pormenorizados os aspectos característicos da mediação transformativa. Por fim, analisa-se a relação entre empoderamento, alteridade e consciência ambiental. O método de pesquisa é indutivo, com abordagem qualitativa e técnica bibliográfica e documental.
