Resumo: About 90% of cattle, feed uses the forage production system as a food base, for animals, in Brazilian agriculture. On the other hand, in practice, there are caring problems in the management of these forages, such as extensive grazing and the lack of correction and fertilization. These factors hinder the productive potential of forages, leading to degradation of pastures. In general, forages require care regarding their exploitation. Thus, the supply of nutrients must be repaired according to the plant's demand, taking into consideration quantity and proportion. The main goal of this work was to evaluate the effect of different organic substrates on the production of forages Capim Marandu and Capim Mombaça. The work was carried out in the city of Mandaguaçu-PR. The seeds of Mombasa and Marandu grass were acquired from Matsuda Sementes Company and the experiment was carried out in a greenhouse with polyethylene trays. It was evaluated the following treatments: Altogether, the two forage species were evaluated in 6 different substrates, namely Conventional Land, Sand, Vegetal Land, Worm Humus, Cow Dung and Chicken Bed. The experimental design was completely randomized, considering that each treatment had 4 replications. It was evaluated features such as weight, length and number of tillers of the plants. Through this study, it was possible to identify that organic fertilization directly influences the development of pastures of Capim Mombasa and Marandu, and the best substrate for the supply of this organic matter was worm humus. It is essential, nowadays, that producers start adopting techniques like the ones mentioned before, in their production system, in order to reduce costs with mineral fertilization and optimize production.
