Resumo: | Molar Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH) is a defect that occurs during development of dental enamel, it has systemic origin and is characterized by a decrease in mineralization of one to four permanent first molars, and may also affect the permanent incisors. In this condition the enamel structure is weakened due to a reduction in the mineral content and an increase in organic matrix proteins, generating greater porosity and opacity in the dental structure, it can compromises one or more permanent first molars and even permanent incisors. MIH does not have a defined etiology, has a high prevalence, is difficult to diagnose and involves complex treatment, which reinforce the need of improvement of the knowledge about this pathology. The objective of this study was to report a case of a child patient with HMI, who sought dental care at the children's clinic at UNICESUMAR. The diagnosis was developed through anamnesis, specific questionnaire, clinical and radiographic examination, which contributed to establish an adequate treatment plan. The treatment prioritized the patient's main complaint and was based on conservative and minimally invasive procedures, seeking structural reinforcement of the affected posterior teeth and the aesthetic resettlement of the anterior tooth. The established treatment was resolute and satisfactory and continues with individualized returns in order to support the patient's needs and the proservation of the existing condition. |
