This article aims to understando the contemporary phenomenon of urban voids and intervention strategies for these spaces, focusing on a case study in the city of Maringá-PR. The work was elaborated from the analysis of the constructs of tche researchers Nuno Portas, Ignasi de Solà-Morales and Marc Auge on the understanding of the concept of urban voids, where transformation strategies for such spaces were raised, enhancing the qualification for the entire urban environment. The focus qas directed to the city of Maringá, with an analysis covering the entire urban center and identifying the voids presente in the munipality, limiting the intervention area in an unused building by architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha with a view to making the space a tool improvemente to the scenario of regional architecture and urbanism. With this, the work proposed the creation of the "Center of Architectural and Urban Context of Maringá", which sought to establish the spatial and symbolic connection between past, presente and future of the architectural and urban scenario, offering an intriguing integration between public space, training, private initiative and refential memorial, in addition to inspire the search for new views on urban voids.
