Biossegurança em odontologia frente ao cenário atual do COVID-19

Resumo: Since the emergence of the new disease caused by the new Coronavirus (SARS-COV-2), as biosafety practices in Dentistry made more rigorous greater safety for health professionals and patients. This is a bibliographical research, seeking to compare a biosafety before the COVID- 19 pandemic and after it, through a literature survey through the platforms of PubMed, Scielo, and technical reports. Studies show that appointments should be scheduled with prior screening, improvement in the use of PPE, such as the use of N-95 and PFF2 masks, face shields (Face Shields), waterproof or disposable coats and peroxide mouthwash 1% hydrogen or 0.2% povidone, in addition to the need for greater control in surface disinfection and environmental adaptations, for greater protection within this pandemic scenario. It is concluded that there is a need for further studies with the arrival of the vaccine against COVID-19, but for the time being, the defined biosafety protocols are being followed.

Esta é uma pesquisa bibliográfica, buscando comparar a biossegurança antes da pandemia pelo COVID-19 e após, através de um levantamento na literatura pelas plataformas do PubMed, Scielo, e informes técnicos. Os estudos mostram que deve haver o agendamento de consulta com triagem prévia, melhoria na utilização de EPI’S, como a utilização de máscaras N-95 e PFF2, protetores faciais (Face Shields), jalecos impermeáveis ou descartáveis e bochecho com peróxido de hidrogênio a 1% ou povidona a 0,2%, além da necessidade de maior controle na desinfecção de superfícies e adequações no ambiente, para uma maior proteção dentro deste cenário pandêmico.
