Resumo: The objective of this work is to demonstrate the importance of immediate oral rehabilitation in partially or totally endentulous patients who present exacerbated discomfort due to the long waiting period caused by interventions in specific areas. For this purpose, the bibliographic research seems to present a satisfactory alternative for qualitative analysis regarding the restoration of the patient's self-confidence from the previous use of the immediate prosthesis. Articles, testimonies from authors and other literature that address the use of immediate prosthesis will be taken into account, contemplating the advantages, disadvantages, indications and contraindications that this designation presents, considering other factors that may impact and compromise the quality of life of patients endentulous, such as: food, phonation, self-image, psychological discomfort, interaction with the social environment, among others.

Para esta finalidade, a pesquisa bibliográfica parece apresentar uma alternativa satisfatória para análise qualitativa no que tange o restabelecimento da autoconfiança do paciente a partir da utilização precedente da prótese imediata.
