Humanização da enfermagem na redução do sofrimento dos pacientes em cuidados paliativos: revisão integrativa

Objective: To identify in the literature the conduct of professional nurses in patient care in palliative care. Method: This is an integrative review research using the descriptors "Palliative Care" "Palliative Care at the End of Life" "Nursing Palliative Care at the End of Life" in the databases collected between August 16 and 22, 2022 in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and PubMed. Articles were collected and analyzed according to the similarity of information obtained from the results. Results: The search resulted in 43 articles, 21 of which were excluded by titles and abstracts because they did not fit the theme. Of the 15 articles selected for full reading, only 10 made up the final sample, whose textual analyzes allowed the construction of four thematic approaches: Spiritual aspects; Humanization; Communication with the team and family; Lack of knowledge and Difficulty of professionals. Conclusion: The professional's perception of the physical, psychic and spiritual aspects, and the use of psychology and spirituality are allied to comfort in the sense of controlling and attenuating, not only the physical suffering, but the psychosocial and spiritual suffering of the patient. For this, it is necessary to train palliative professionals who see beyond what is evidenced, that is, let themselves be touched, giving space for sensitivity.
