Resumo: Improving corn cultivation techniques is essential to achieve agricultural sustainability. Thus, the objective was to evaluate the action of inoculating maize seeds with Azospirillum brasilense and Bacillus subtilis. The research had 5 treatments and 5 repetitions: T1 - 60 kg/ha of N in coverage; T2 - 60 kg/ha of N in top dressing + inoculation with Azospirillum brasilense via the planting furrow; T3 - 60 kg/ha of N in coverage + inoculation with Bacillus subtilis via seed; T4 - 60 kg/ha of N in top dressing + inoculation with Azospirillum brasilense via planting furrow + Bacillus subtilis via seed; T5 – Witness. The following parameters were evaluated: plant height (cm), average ear weight (g), weight of a thousand grains (g), number of rows per ear, ear diameter (cm), yield (kg/ha) and return economic (R$). The application of Bacillus subtilis in association with Azospirillum brasiliense provided a significant increase in productivity, plant height and weight of a thousand grains and greater economic return when compared to the other treatments analyzed. The application of Bacillus subtilis provided a significant increase in the weight of a thousand grains, where despite the application cost being higher when compared to the control or T1, the application of the bacterium presents a positive economic return to the producer, as well as the inoculation with Azospirillum brasiliense. Therefore, it is concluded that the use of Bacillus subtilis associated with Azospirillum brasilense is a profitable and sustainable alternative for the producer in the production of corn.
