This article seeks to demonstrate the whole outlook in the brazilian corporate law showing the history of the corporations and their evolution being guided by the principles of the business law. A comparison was made between the limited companies and the limited responsibility individual company showing their pros e cons gathering statistic data from many commercial boards checking up that even with the advent of the limited responsibility individual company the limited companies were still the preferred in the business environment which showed the necessity of a new corporate type to answer the wishes of the business community. The unipersonal limited company emerged with the advent of the law 13.784/2019 gathering the benefits from the limited companies and in the limited responsibility individual company in only one corporation. As the advent of the unipersonal limited company there was a decrease in the commercial registration of the limited responsibility individual company what may indicate the preferrence by the unipersonal limited company. The article was developed by the theorical method with the research of doctrinal works, scientific articles, legislations and data collection.
