Resumo: The species Pseudolycopodiella carnosa (Silveira) Holub, belongs to the family Lycopodiaceae, occurs in almost all of Brazil, except in the northern region. To the Northeast, it is registered only for the state of Bahia. Thus, the study aimed to register Pseudolycopodiella carnosa for the first time to the state of Maranhão. The specimen was collected in a damp field area in the Municipal Environmental Protection Area from Buriti do Meio, Caxias/MA.Keywords: Geographical distribution; Northeast Brazil; Lycophytes; Pseudolycopodiella carnosa.
