THE TITANOSAURID (DINOSAURIA, SAUROPODA, TITANOSAURIA) OF THE LATE CRETACEOUS OF TRIANGULO MINEIRO: REGISTRATION, DISTRIBUTION AND NATURAL HISTORY

Resumo: The present project aimed to develop a survey and update the knowledge about the fossil record of titanosaurid dinosaurs described so far in the literature and found in the region known as Triangulo Mineiro. A literature review of this region was elaborated through this and a map of the location and a general table of the record of species and genera of titanosaurid were created.The results and considerations obtained reveal a larger number of finds in more explored and surveyed regions as the surroundings of Uberaba and Peirópolis. Moreover, possible inferences about similarities found between Brazilian and Argentinean species were performed, suggesting the presence of a common assembly in the Upper Cretaceous of these regions, because they share similar fauna species like Aeolosaurus, reflecting a common Gondwanan origin.Keywords: Bauru Group, saurpods, Cretaceous, fossil record, Minas Gerais.
