Resumo: Neotropical frogs exhibit different patterns of activities related to the distribution of rainfall during the year. Here we present data on the population structure and reproductive pattern of Pseudis boliviana in floodplain located at Fazenda Toca da Raposa (00009’04.6”N; 51002’22.9”W), North Brazil. For this study, adults and juveniles of P. boliviana were collected during the dry season (August-December 2011) and rainy (January-July 2012), using standardized sampling methods. Males calling activity were recorded in the rainy and dry season. Females with eggs visible through the abdominal wall were not recorded during the rainy season. Juvenile P. boliviana were recorded in the dry season. The species studied show sexual dimorphism in size, with larger females than males. Among the sampled individuals, males were significantly more abundant than females (sex ratio = 1.3:1; χ2 = 24.06, p = 0.01). The results suggest that P. boliviana breeds during the rainy season, showing marked reproductive seasonality. Keywords: Reproductive patterns; Abundance; Seasonality; Amapá.

Universidade Federal do AmapáFurtado, Mayara Fabiana MeloCosta-Campos, Carlos EduardoQueiroz, Suelique Souza2014-08-02info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionArtigo Avaliado pelos Paresapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/view/92410.18561/2179-5746/biotaamazonia.v4n2p68-73Biota Amazônia (Biote Amazonie, Biota Amazonia, Amazonian Biota); v. 4, n. 2 (2014); 68-732179-5746reponame:Biota Amazôniainstname:Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP)instacron:UNIFAPporhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/view/924/v4n2p68-73.pdfhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/downloadSuppFile/924/109Direitos autorais 2014 Biota Amazônia (Biote Amazonie, Biota Amazonia, Amazonian Biota)http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2016-04-13T17:58:54Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/924Revistahttp://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biotaONGhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/oai||juliosa@unifap.br2179-57462179-5746opendoar:2016-04-13T17:58:54Biota Amazônia - Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP)false
