Resumo: The HTLV is a retrovirus that leads to a long-term virus and without clinical manifestations. The objective of this study is to trace the socio-demographic profile of the population infected with HTLV neurological disorders. This is a cross-sectional study population consisted of 69 individuals coming from the Rehabilitation Centre-Amapá Creaper. It was considered as inclusion criteria, only those diagnosed and living in the city of Macapá, Amapá, holders of non-traumatic neurological function. The collection of patient data was made between the years 2004 and 2009. After the identification and location of patients, they were invited to participate voluntarily in this study. It was made to administer the questionnaire and to assess the distribution of epidemiological methods were applied descriptive and inferential statistics. As a result most are female, age 40 to 49 years, black, married, elementary education, with sanitation, with brick houses, pay 1 to 3.9 minimum wages, have biological children, never lived in abroad. It is concluded that the epidemiological profile of patients with HTLV this population is quite similar to that found in the literature. Keywords: HTLV; Epidemiological Profile; Neurological Disorder.

Universidade Federal do AmapáSantos, Elinaldo da Conceição dosRodrigues, Ártemis Socorro do Nascimento2012-01-02info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionArtigo Avaliado pelos Paresapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/view/33510.18561/2179-5746/biotaamazonia.v1n2p79-85Biota Amazônia (Biote Amazonie, Biota Amazonia, Amazonian Biota); v. 1, n. 2 (2011); 79-852179-5746reponame:Biota Amazôniainstname:Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP)instacron:UNIFAPporhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/view/335/v1n2p79-85.pdfDireitos autorais 2012 Biota Amazônia (Biote Amazonie, Biota Amazonia, Amazonian Biota)http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2016-04-19T12:55:46Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/335Revistahttp://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biotaONGhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/oai||juliosa@unifap.br2179-57462179-5746opendoar:2016-04-19T12:55:46Biota Amazônia - Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP)false
