Resumo: Myxozoa has a great diversity, being known about 2,300 species, which mainly infect fish. These organisms present as obligate endoparasites and are responsible for several pathologies. The objective of this study was to evaluate the occurrence of myxosporids in fish (Cyphocarax gilbert, Hemiodus langeanii, Serrasalmus branditi, Prochilodus lineatus, Geophagus brasiliensis, Hoplias malabaricus, Pimelodus maculatus, Leporinus fasciatus and Platydoras brachylecis). River Parnaíba, city of Teresina and Rio Igaraçu municipality of Parnaíba, State of Piauí. The stereomicroscopic analysis of the 60 fish showed that 50% had small cysts located in the gills and conjunctiva ocular, whose observation in light microscopy showed to be Henneguya sp. and Myxobolus sp.Keywords: Fish; Henneguya; Myxobolus.

Esses organismos, apresentam-se como endoparasitas obrigatórios e são responsáveis por diversas patologias. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a ocorrência de mixosporídeos em peixes (Cyphocarax gilbert, Hemiodus langeanii, Serrasalmus branditi, Prochilodus lineatus, Geophagus brasiliensis, Hoplias malabaricus, Pimelodus maculatus, Leporinus fasciatus e Platydoras brachylecis) utilizados para o consumo do homem no Rio Poti e Rio Parnaíba, cidade de Teresina e Rio Igaraçu município de Parnaíba, Estado do Piauí. A análise em estereomicroscópio dos 60 peixes mostrou que 50% apresentavam pequenos cistos localizados nas brânquias e conjuntiva ocular, cuja observação em microscopia de luz mostrou tratar-se Henneguya sp. e Myxobolus sp.Palavras-chave: Peixes, Henneguya, Myxobolus.
