Resumo: This study evaluated the potential of plant species from extractive activities in São Tomé community in the municipality of Ferreira Gomes, Amapá, due to environmental changes caused by the installation of Cachoeira Caldeirão hydroelectric along the Araguari river and consequently the flood area community. The collection of field data occurred from July/August 2014 and consisted of interviews with closed and open questions, and location of the properties of the respondents (using GPS). The main species of economic interest and food security were: Euterpe oleracea Mart. (açaizeiro), Oenocarpus bacaba Mart. (bacabeira), Caryocar villosum (Aubl.) Pers. (piquiazeiro), while seeds of Carapa guianensis Aubl (andirobeira) and Protium sp (breu) were used for medicinal purposes and local crafts, respectively. In terms of production, marketed species that stood out was Euterpe oleracea Mart. with estimated average production of 2083.3 kg/year, followed by Oenocarpus bacaba Mart. with 567.5 kg/year.Keywords: Family farms; Amazon; Vegetable extrativism.

A coleta de dados em campo ocorreu no período de julho/agosto de 2014 e consistiu de entrevistas com perguntas fechadas e abertas, e localização das propriedades dos entrevistados (com auxílio de GPS). As principais espécies de interesse econômico e de segurança alimentar foram: Euterpe oleracea Mart. (açaizeiro), Oenocarpus bacaba Mart. (bacabeira), Caryocar villosum (Aubl.) Pers. (piquiazeiro), enquanto que, sementes de Carapa guianensis Aubl (andirobeira) e o Protium sp (breu) são utilizadas com fins medicinal e artesanato local, respectivamente. Em termos de produção, a espécie comercializada que mais se destacou foi Euterpe oleracea Mart. com produção média estimada de 2083,3 kg/ano, seguida de Oenocarpus bacaba Mart. com 567,5 kg/ano.Palavras-chave: Agricultura Familiar, Amazônia, Extrativismo Vegetal.
