SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SITUATION IN POPULAR HOUSING IN FOZ DO IGUAÇU-PR

Resumo: Urban development in Brazil, without proper planning, generating a series of environmental problems, among which we can mention unemployment, lack of access to urban infrastructure, inadequate housing, among others. This study aimed to survey and analyze the social and environmental situation of the residents of the people's Conjunto Popular Vila União in Foz do Iguaçu - PR. Data collection and analysis were conducted between May and November 2010 through interviews and checklist. It was concluded that 67.86% of the surveyed families have up to three people living in the same residence. The percentage of people aged 16 and over employed is 72.46%. With respect to income, 42.86% of families residing at the site has an average monthly income above two minimum salaries. However, 57.14% have an average monthly income of up to two minimum salaries. Some factors such as public sanitation, noise, size, maintenance and painting of the apartments and even the lack of government attention have been criticized by families, where 53.57% of respondents cited these factors. Still, issues related to urban infrastructure showed 46.43% of dissatisfaction of local people. Regarding the disposal of solid waste, the site is covered by the dealership that performs public gathering, meeting 100% of households.Keywords: urban planning; environment; urbanization.

Este trabalho buscou levantar e analisar a situação socioambiental dos moradores do Conjunto Popular Habitacional Vila União em Foz do Iguaçu – PR. O levantamento de dados e análises foram realizados entre os meses de maio e novembro de 2010 através de entrevistas e check list. Concluiu-se que 67,86% das famílias consultadas apresentam até três pessoas residindo no na mesma residência. O percentual de pessoas com idade superior a 16 anos empregadas é de 72,46%. Com relação aos rendimentos, 42,86% das famílias que residem no local apresenta renda média mensal superior a dois salários mínimos. Entretanto, 57,14% possuem renda média mensal de até dois salários mínimos. Alguns fatores como limpeza pública, barulho, tamanho, manutenção e pintura dos apartamentos e até mesmo a falta de atenção governamental foram criticados pelas famílias, onde 53,57% dos entrevistados citaram estes fatores. Ainda, questões relacionadas à infraestrutura urbana apresentaram 46,43% de insatisfação da população local.
