Resumo: Field-based investigations greatly contribute to studies about the ecology, distribution and status of many species, especially in places where biodiversity is poorly known, such as the state of Maranhão, in northeastern Brazil. Although the coastal vegetation is well documented, the richness of biodiversity in the interior regions of the state still require further study. In a single field expedition for five days in the Chapada das Mesas National Park region, we recorded seven new plants for Maranhão that belong to seven families, including monocotyledonous, carnivorous, saprophytic and other species. A brief diagnosis, comments on the distribution and taxonomy, and field photos are provided for each species. Keywords: Brazilian Northeast; Cerrado; fieldwork; savanna.

Universidade Federal do AmapáLaboratório de Biologia PesqueiraCAPESNakamura, Milena FélixOliveira, Mônica RochaNóbrega, Marcelo FranciscoLima, Louise Thuane BarretoCarvalho, Marcelo MoreiraLins Oliveira, Jorge Eduardo2023-06-02info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionArtigo Avaliado pelos Paresapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/view/665410.18561/2179-5746/biotaamazonia.v13n1p25-29Biota Amazônia (Biote Amazonie, Biota Amazonia, Amazonian Biota); v. 13, n. 1 (2023); 25-292179-5746reponame:Biota Amazôniainstname:Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP)instacron:UNIFAPporhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/view/6654/v13n1p25-29.pdfhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/downloadSuppFile/6654/1156https://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/downloadSuppFile/6654/1157BrasilDireitos autorais 2023 Biota Amazônia (Biote Amazonie, Biota Amazonia, Amazonian Biota)http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2023-12-31T14:31:54Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/6654Revistahttp://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biotaONGhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/oai||juliosa@unifap.br2179-57462179-5746opendoar:2023-12-31T14:31:54Biota Amazônia - Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP)false
