EVALUATION OF WATER QUALITY OF PRIVATE RESERVE NATURAL HERITAGE (RPPN) SERINGAL TRIUMPH, ARAGUARI, FERREIRA GOMES-AP-BRAZIL

The present study aimed to evaluate the water quality of the Private Reserve of Natural Seringal Triumph. The evaluation was done by calculating the Water Quality Index (IQA) from data obtained in eight monitoring points with samples collected in two distinct periods: the month of December 2012 representing the dry season and the month of June 2013 representing the full period. The methodology selected IQA (NSF) is the index most widely adopted within the brazilian states. The selected parameters for the formulation of the index were: water temperature, pH, turbidity, fecal coliform, BOD, DO, nitrate, phosphate and total solids. The data obtained were compared with the limits defined by CONAMA Resolution 357/2005. Standards of water quality were slightly higher in the dry season compared to the rainy season. Through the application of ANOVA showed that there was a significant difference between the eight points for most of the parameters analyzed in the two periods studied (p 0,05). The IQA presented quality level between Good/Medium during periods. The t-test showed a significant difference (p 0.05) between the IQA period of flood and drought. In general, the surface water quality of the RPPN Seringal Triumph was considered with the quality level of 'medium' parameters being studied within the most allowed by law for water grade2. This study makes clear that the occupation of a bowl without environmental criteria can considerably compromise the quality of surface waters.Keywords: RPPN; Araguarí River; Water Quality Index; Physical-chemical and microbiological analyzes.
