Resumo: The Cerrado of the Northeast has been the target of intense anthropic action. This shows the necessity to guarantee their biological diversity and ecosystem function in the long term. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the taxonomic and functional diversity of the low altitude cave cerrado present in the Vegetacional Complex of Campo Maior. Five areas were selected in the FLORACENE database. The comparison of taxonomic diversity was done through the Hill series, to analyze the functional diversity, three functional traits were measured (leaf area, wood density and maximum height). The diversity of function among the areas was calculated using the indexes: functional richness, functional equitability and functional divergence and Rao entropy. In the studied areas a total of 4550 individuals belonging to 70 species were sampled, distributed in 28 families, being Fabaceae the most abundant in number of species and Vochysiaceae the most representative in number of individuals. It could be observed that in the studied areas they are well diversified, both taxonomically and functionally, this provides a mosaic conformation of this for this cerrado typology. Keywords: Biodiversity; conservation; ecosystem.
