Resumo: In Amapá studies on the interactions between people and wildlife within schools has revealed that students have little knowledge about groups of animals such as amphibians, birds or reptiles. In this context, the objective of this work was to analyze the perception of students of a first-year high school class on zoological and conservation aspects regarding carnivorous mammal species in the state of Amapá, at the Professor José Barroso Tostes Public School, located in the municipality of Santana, as methodological approach consisted of questionnaires and lectures. Our findings indicated that students lacked basic zoological knowledge and knowledge of local and national fauna, but they showed great positive aspects regarding the relation of preservation and conservation of this group of animals. The educational intervention, conducted with students provided a broader knowledge about these animals, approached their local fauna, acquired a favoritism and developed an even greater sensitivity and sympathy. Our results indicated a need to adopt an ethnozoological approach and develop activities in schools, because it enables the student to acquire scientific knowledge about their local fauna, develop a sensitivity to conservation and preservation, and promote transformations and actions that will reflect in the life of this student.

Universidade Federal do AmapáConselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq)Guimarães, Jaynne Cristiny MonteiroCosta-Campos, Carlos Eduardo2022-04-07info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionArtigo Avaliado pelos Paresapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/view/496410.18561/2179-5746/biotaamazonia.v12n1p1-7Biota Amazônia (Biote Amazonie, Biota Amazonia, Amazonian Biota); v. 12, n. 1 (2022); 1-72179-5746reponame:Biota Amazôniainstname:Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP)instacron:UNIFAPenghttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/view/4964/v12n1p1-7.pdfDireitos autorais 2022 Biota Amazônia (Biote Amazonie, Biota Amazonia, Amazonian Biota)http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2023-04-26T19:24:10Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/4964Revistahttp://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biotaONGhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/oai||juliosa@unifap.br2179-57462179-5746opendoar:2023-04-26T19:24:10Biota Amazônia - Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP)false
