Resumo: | Lithium is an extremely light metal with important physical and electrochemical properties. Due to its high specific heat is used in applications involving heat transfer and its high electrochemical potential and high energy density makes it highly used in batteries. As a result of its high reactivity it is not found in its elemental form in nature. Its occurrence occurs mainly in Lithium Brines and Pegmatites. In Brazil its occurrence occurs only in pegmatite deposits, being the main deposits located in the municipalities of Itinga and Araçuaí, in the Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais. The present work aims to gather information, through a literature review, about the exploration of lithium minerals in the referred municipalities. With the steady increase in demand for lithium minerals for use in technological systems, especially lithium batteries, this has led to large investments in research and infrastructure in the region, which may increase as domestic and international market demand increases. The importance of Jequitinhonha Valley in the scenario of technological development, driven by Brazil's Industry 4.0, was evident. |

Debido a su alto calor específico se utiliza en aplicaciones que implican transferencia de calor y su alto potencial electroquímico y alta densidad de energía lo hacen muy utilizado en baterías. Como resultado de su alta reactividad, no se encuentra en su forma elemental en la naturaleza. Su aparición ocurre principalmente en salmueras de litio y pegmatitas. En Brasil, su presencia ocurre solo en depósitos de pegmatita, siendo los principales depósitos ubicados en los municipios de Itinga y Araçuaí, en el Valle de Jequitinhonha, Minas Gerais. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo recopilar información, a través de una revisión de la literatura, sobre la exploración de minerales de litio en los municipios referidos. Con el aumento constante de la demanda de minerales de litio para su uso en sistemas tecnológicos, especialmente baterías de litio, esto ha llevado a grandes inversiones en investigación e infraestructura en la región, que pueden aumentar a medida que aumenta la demanda del mercado nacional e internacional. La importancia de Vale do Jequitinhonha en el escenario del desarrollo tecnológico, impulsado por la Industria 4.0 de Brasil, era evidente.O lítio é um metal extremamente leve e com importantes propriedades físicas e eletroquímicas. Devido a seu elevado calor específico é usando em aplicações que envolvem transferência de calor e seu alto potencial eletroquímico e alta densidade energética faz com que seja altamente utilizado em baterias. Em consequência da sua alta reatividade não é encontrado em sua forma elementar na natureza. Sua ocorrência se dá principalmente em Salmouras de Lítio e Pegmatitos. No Brasil sua ocorrência só se dá em depósitos de pegmatito, sendo os principais depósitos localizados nos municípios de Itinga e Araçuaí, no Vale do Jequitinhonha, Minas Gerais. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo realizar o levantamento de informação, através de uma revisão bibliográfica, sobre a exploração dos minerais de lítios nos referidos municípios. Com o constante aumento da demanda por minerais de lítio para uso em sistemas tecnológicos, principalmente em baterias de lítio, fez com que houvesse grandes investimentos em pesquisas e infraestrutura na região, podendo aumentar conforme o crescimento da demanda do mercado nacional e internacional aumenta.
