Biodiesel production as a strategy for small producer

Resumo: The trend of change in the energy matrix in relation to fuels, in the world, has led to the need for a series of researches, which seek to optimize the use of biodiesel and diesel-biodiesel blends of oilseeds, such as soybeans and other crops. This study aimed to demonstrate the production of biodiesel from crude soybean oil (cold extracted) from a mechanical press as a strategy for the small producer and to evaluate the performance of a generator engine, using the mixtures of this biodiesel and mineral diesel. Cold extracted soybean biodiesel blends (10, 20, 40%) and mineral diesel (90, 80, 60%) were used in a smaller and larger resistive load of approximately 4.6 kW and 1.6 kW respectively, applied to the generator engine in order to evaluate its performance. The biodiesel produced from soybean oil extracted from the mechanical press, presented the specifications in accordance with the ANP standards. The evaluation of the energy efficiency of the fuels, with the motor-generator set of the Branco brand, model BD 4000, showed variations in consumption, and the blend with 20% soybean biodiesel and 80% diesel showed a reduction in fuel consumption and a good set yield. The research results suggest this as a viable strategy for the small producer.

Este estudio tuvo como objetivo demostrar la producción de biodiesel de aceite bruto de soja (extraído a frío) de una prensa mecánica como estrategia para el pequeño productor y evaluar el desempeño de un motor generador, usando la mezcla de este biodiesel y de diesel mineral. Fueron utilizadas blendas de biodiesel de soja extraído a frío (10, 20, 40%) y de diesel mineral (90, 80, 60%) en una carga resistiva menor y mayor, con potencia aproximada 4,6 kW y 1,6 kW, respectivamente, aplicada al motor generador con la finalidad de evaluar su desempeño. El biodiesel producido del aceite de soja extraído de la prensa mecánica presentó las especificaciones de acuerdo con las normas ANP. La evaluación de la eficiencia energética de los combustibles, con el conjunto moto generador de la marca Branco modelo BD 4000, demostró variaciones en el consumo, y la blenda con 20% de biodiesel de soja y con 80% de diesel mostró reducción en el gasto de combustible y un buen rendimiento del conjunto. Este estudo teve como objetivo demonstrar a produção de biodiesel de óleo bruto de soja (extraído a frio) de uma prensa mecânica como estratégia para o pequeno produtor e avaliar o desempenho de um motor gerador, usando as misturas deste biodiesel e de diesel mineral. Foram utilizadas blendas de biodiesel de soja extraído a frio (10, 20, 40%) e de diesel mineral (90, 80, 60%) em uma carga resistiva menor e maior, com potência aproximada 4,6 kW e 1,6 kW respectivamente, aplicada ao motor gerador com a finalidade de avaliar o seu desempenho.
