Resumo: The objective was to identify the strategies of nurse managers for the prevention and control of infections related to health care. For this, an integrative review was carried out, using the SCOPUS, BDENF, CINAHL and LILACS databases. Based on the criteria and inclusion and exclusion, there were seven publications, which were analyzed according to the level of evidence and the Critical Appraisal Skills Program tool. It was possible to identify three strategies most used by nurses: surveillance, the creation of standard operating procedures / normative instruments and permanent education. The involvement of nurses in the process of preventing and controlling infections was verified, consolidating professional performance and strengthening the importance of defining professional attributions for qualified health care.

Para ello, se realizó una revisión integradora, utilizando las bases de datos SCOPUS, BDENF, CINAHL y LILACS. Con base en los criterios e inclusión y exclusión, hubo siete publicaciones, que se analizaron de acuerdo con el nivel de evidencia y la herramienta del Programa de Habilidades de Evaluación Crítica. Fue posible identificar tres estrategias más utilizadas por las enfermeras: vigilancia, creación de procedimientos operativos estándar / instrumentos normativos y educación permanente. Se verificó la participación de las enfermeras en el proceso de prevención y control de infecciones, consolidando el desempeño profesional y fortaleciendo la importancia de definir las atribuciones profesionales para la atención médica calificada.O objetivo foi identificar as estratégias de enfermeiros gerentes para a prevenção e controle de infecções relacionadas à assistência à saúde. Para isso, realizou-se uma revisão integrativa, através das bases de dados SCOPUS, BDENF, CINAHL e LILACS. A partir dos critérios e inclusão e exclusão totalizaram-se sete publicações, as quais foram analisadas conforme o nível de evidência e a ferramenta Critical Appraisal Skills Programme. Foi possível identificar três estratégias mais utilizadas pelos enfermeiros: a vigilância, a criação de procedimentos operacionais padrão/ instrumentos normativos e a educação permanente.
