Resumo: | The Veterinary Medicine stands out in public health, for acting in health promotion, identification of risk factors and establishment of measures of prevention and control of diseases and injuries. In order to carry out a survey on the prior knowledge of Agents Health Community and Endemic Disease Control Agents (AHC / EDCA) regarding the relationship between public health and veterinary medicine, and issues related to the main species of venomous animals involved in acidentes. The study comprehended three steps. the first step of the research was the creation and application of questionnaires. The second step represented a training course on the prevention of accidents caused by venomous animals for AHC and EDCA. Finally, the third step involved the questionnaires reapplication at the end of each course meeting with a related subject. Out of 46 participants, 58.70% (27) were AHC and 41.30% (19) EDCA. In the questionnaires, participants were asked before the course beginning if they knew how to prevent accidents by venomous animals. The results showed that 84.78% (39) knew how to prevent accidents, and after the course, all participants responded correctly. Also, in the questionnaires, participants were asked for the definition of venomous animal. Before the course, 43.48% (20) were able to define it, and after the course 71.74% (33). The study showed the importance of education in health practices and the role of veterinarians in training AHC and EDCA, contributing then for the multiplication of health knowledge in society. |

El Médico Veterinario se destaca en salud pública, por actuar en la promoción de la salud, en la identificación de factores de riesgo y en la determinación de medidas para la prevención y el control de enfermedades y lesiones. Con el fin de llevar a cabo una encuesta sobre los conocimientos previos de los Agentes Comunitarios de Salud y los Agentes para combatir las enfermedades endémicas (ACS / ACE), sobre la relación entre los aspectos de salud pública y la Medicina Veterinaria y las cuestiones relacionadas con las principales especies de animales venenosos involucrados en accidentes con seres humanos. El estudio consta de tres etapas, la primera fue la elaboración y aplicación de cuestionarios. En la segunda etapa, se realizó un curso de capacitación para los ACS / ACE sobre prevención de accidentes por animales venenosos. Finalmente, los cuestionarios relacionados con el tema abordado en el día se volvieron a aplicar al final de cada reunión del curso. Del total de participantes, 58.70% (27/46) eran ACE y 41.30% (19/46) ACS. Entre las preguntas en los cuestionarios, a los participantes se les preguntó antes del curso si sabían cómo prevenir accidentes por animales venenosos. Se encontró 84.78% (39/46) que sabía cómo evitarse, y después de las acciones, 100% de los encuestados respondieron correctamente. En otra pregunta, sobre qué es un animal venenoso, antes del curso 43.48% (20/46) sabía cómo definir, y después del curso 71.74% (33/46). El estudio demostró la importancia de la Educación para la Salud y el papel del Médico Veterinario como entrenador de ACS y ACE para la formación de multiplicadores de información de salud.O Médico Veterinário destaca-se na saúde pública, por atuar na promoção da saúde, na identificação de fatores de riscos e determinação de medidas de prevenção e controle de doenças e agravos. Com o objetivo de realizar um levantamento do conhecimento prévio dos Agentes Comunitários de Saúde e Agentes de Combate às Endemias (ACS/ACE), sobre a relação de vertentes de saúde pública com a Medicina Veterinária e assuntos relacionados às principais espécies de animais peçonhentos envolvidos em acidentes com seres humanos. O estudo compreendeu três etapas, a primeira consistiu na elaboração e aplicação de questionários. Na segunda etapa, foi realizado um curso de capacitação sobre a prevenção de acidentes por animais peçonhentos aos ACS/ACE. Por fim, foram reaplicados ao término de cada encontro do curso, os questionários relacionados ao assunto abordado no dia. Do total dos participantes, 58,70% (27/46) eram ACE e 41,30% (19/46) ACS. Dentre as perguntas dos questionários, os participantes foram interrogados antes do curso se sabiam como se prevenir contra acidentes por animais peçonhentos. Verificou-se que 84,78% (39/46) sabiam como se prevenir, e após as ações 100% dos entrevistados responderam corretamente. Em outra pergunta, sobre o que é animal peçonhento, antes do curso 43,48% (20/46) souberam definir, e após o curso 71,74% (33/46).
