Resumo: | The Brasília International Airport Juscelino Kubitschek is considered to be the main one in the Central-West region, giving it the objective of interconnecting the national and international territory and their respective markets. This article aims to characterize the airport in terms of number of passengers and profits obtained before and after the airport infrastructure modernization reforms delivered in 2014, in order to verify whether the investments made were paid of. The analysis is due to the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil. A quantitative research was carried out in this case study, based on data extracted from the statistical yearbooks published by the Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company - Infraero, by the Department of Airspace Control - DECEA, as well as data published by the Agency National Civil Aviation - ANAC. It was observed that because the rate of use of flights during th World Cup period had 83% of the total available seats occupied the investments made by Inframerica supported the demands of the major events in 2014 and 2016. In contrast it was conclued that the modernization from the airport contributed positively in a special way in 2015 where the number of flights presented the best results in general. The fact that the years of major events didn’t meet the expected demands was related to the fare prices and consequently to the ticket. |

Este artículo tiene como objetivo caracterizar el aeropuerto en términos de número de pasajeros y ganancias obtendidas antes y después de las reformas de modernización de la infraestructura aeroportuaria entregadas en 2014, com el fin de verificar si las inversiones realizadas fueron amortizadas. El análisis se justifica por la realización de la Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2014 y los Juegos Olímpicos de Río 2016, com sede en Brasil. Em este caso de estúdio se realizo uma investigación cuantitativa, basada em datos extraídos de anuários estadísticos publicados por la Empresa Brasileña de Infraestructura Aeroportuatia – Infraero, por el Departamento de Control del Espacio Aéreo – DECEA, así como datos publicados por la Agencia Nacional de Aviación Civil – ANAC. Se observo que debido a que la tasa de uso de vuelos durante el Mundial tuvo el 83% del total de asientos disponibles ocupados, las inversiones realizadas por Inframérica respaldaron las demandas de los grandes eventos de 2014 y 2016. Por outro lado, se concluyó que la modernización del aeropuerto contribuyó positivamente de manera especial em 2015, donde el número de vuelos presentó los mejores resultados em general. El hecho de que los años de grandes eventos no cumplieran com las demandas esperadas estuvo relacionado com los precios de las tarifas y, em consecuencia, com las entradas.O Aeroporto Internacional de Brasília Juscelino Kubitschek é tido como o principal da região Centro-Oeste, tendo como objetivo interligar o território nacional e internacional e seus respectivos mercados. Esse artigo visa caracterizar o aeroporto quanto ao número de passageiros e lucros obtidos antes e depois das reformas de modernização da infraestrutura aeroportuária entregues em 2014, a fim de verificar se os investimentos realizados foram quitados. A análise se justifica pela realização do Campeonato Mundial de Futebol FIFA de 2014 e os Jogos Olímpicos Rio 2016, sediados no Brasil, os quais geraram expectativas quanto ao aumento da demanda no aeroporto. Realizou-se neste estudo de caso uma pesquisa quantitativa, levantada através de dados extraídos dos anuários estatísticos publicados pela Empresa Brasileira de Infraestrutura Aeroportuária – Infraero, pelo Departamento de Controle do Espaço Aéreo – DECEA, bem como dados publicados pela Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil – ANAC. Observou se que pelo fato da taxa de aproveitamento dos voos no período do Mundial ter tido 83% do total de assentos disponibilizados ocupados, os investimentos realizados pela Inframérica suportaram as demandas dos grandes eventos de 2014 e 2016. Em contrapartida, foi concluído que a modernização do aeroporto contribuiu positivamente de modo especial no ano de 2015, onde a quantidade de voos apresentou em âmbito geral os melhores resultados.
