Analysis of fishing data in Pernambuco, Sergipe and Bahia: Focus on reports of crimes against endangered turtles

Resumo: This study carries out a comparative analysis of data relating to fishing crimes in the states of Pernambuco, Sergipe, and Bahia, located in Brazil. The research is based on information from inspection reports and incident records. The main objective is to identify patterns and trends related to fishing crimes. A comprehensive analysis of the data reveals the extent of the fishing crime problem in these coastal and river states. Furthermore, the seasonality of these crimes stands out, with accentuated occurrences in certain annual periods. The research also allows identifying areas with the highest concentration of these infractions. Additionally, specific patterns of transgressions emerge, such as the detection of the illicit use of fishing equipment and the capture of threatened species, such as turtles. The insights extracted from this analysis provide essential information for the development of strategies and policies aimed at combating fishing crimes in these states. In this way, research based primarily on data from the Biodiversity Portal and Global Fish Watching, analyzed through the main Python libraries, contributes to the preservation of fishing resources and the safeguarding of marine and river ecosystems, especially in the Fernando de Noronha region, where reports of crimes against endangered turtles are of particular concern.

La análisis exhaustiva de los datos revela la magnitud del problema de los delitos pesqueros en estos estados costeros y ribereños. Además, destaca la estacionalidad de estos delitos, con ocurrencias acentuadas en determinados períodos anuales. La investigación también permite identificar las áreas con mayor concentración de estas infracciones. Además, emergen patrones específicos de transgresiones, como la detección del uso ilícito de equipos de pesca y la captura de especies amenazadas, como las tortugas. Las percepciones extraídas de este análisis proporcionan información esencial para el desarrollo de estrategias y políticas destinadas a combatir los delitos pesqueros en estos estados. De esta manera, investigaciones basadas principalmente en datos del Portal de Biodiversidad y Global Fish Watching, analizadas a través de las principales bibliotecas de Python, contribuyen a la preservación de los recursos pesqueros y la salvaguardia de los ecosistemas marinos y fluviales, especialmente en la región de Fernando de Noronha, donde los informes sobre crímenes contra tortugas en peligro de extinción son de particular preocupación.Este estudo realiza uma análise comparativa dos dados referentes a crimes de pesca nos estados de Pernambuco, Sergipe e Bahia, situados no Brasil. A pesquisa baseia-se em informações provenientes de relatórios de fiscalização e registros de ocorrências. O objetivo principal é identificar padrões e tendências relacionados aos crimes de pesca. A análise minuciosa dos dados revela a extensão do problema dos crimes de pesca nesses estados costeiros e fluviais. Além disso, destaca-se a sazonalidade desses delitos, com ocorrências acentuadas em determinados períodos anuais. A pesquisa também permite a delimitação de áreas de maior concentração dessas infrações. Adicionalmente, surgem padrões específicos de transgressões, como a detecção do uso ilícito de equipamentos de pesca e a captura de espécies ameaçadas, como as tartarugas. Os insights extraídos dessa análise proporcionam informações essenciais para o desenvolvimento de estratégias e políticas destinadas ao combate aos crimes de pesca nestes estados.
