Ammonia volatilization and marandu grass evaluation under doses and sources of nitrogen fertilizers

Resumo: The present study was conducted with the objective of evaluating the dry matter production of the aerial part and crude protein content of the Urochola brizantha cv. Marandu, in addition to the losses of ammonia (N-NH3) by volatilization and the efficiency of fertilizing sources of nitrogen fertilizers and applied nitrogen doses. The experimental design was in randomized blocks, with four replications, in a 3x3 factorial scheme, the treatments consisted of the combination of three nitrogen sources (urea, urea with polymer and urea with urease inhibitor NBPT (N- (n-butyl) thiophosphoric triamide) ), three doses of N (50,100 and 150 kg ha-1 of N) and the control (without fertilization) constituting 10 treatments, with four repetitions. The nitrogen source that showed the lowest ammonia losses (N-NH3) through volatilization was urea treated with urease inhibitor (NBPT), the peak of volatilization occurred on the second day after nitrogen application. The doses of N influenced the DMP, CP and ammonia volatilization, therefore, they must be considered in the determination of strategies in the management of the pasture.

Marandu, además de la pérdida de amoníaco (N-NH3) por volatilización y la eficiencia de las fuentes de fertilización de fertilizantes nitrogenados y las dosis de nitrógeno aplicadas. El diseño experimental fue en bloques aleatorizados, con cuatro repeticiones, en un esquema factorial 3x3, los tratamientos consistieron en la combinación de tres fuentes de nitrógeno (urea, urea con polímero y urea con inhibidor de ureasa NBPT (N-butil-tiofosforica-triamida), se evaluaron tres dosis de N (50.100 y 150 kg ha-1 de N) y el control (sin fertilización) que constituían de 10 tratamientos, con cuatro repeticiones. La fuente de nitrógeno que mostró las pérdidas de amoníaco más bajas (N-NH3) debido a la volatilización fue tratada con urea con inhibidor de ureasa (NBPT), el pico de volatilización ocurrió en el segundo día después de la aplicación de nitrógeno. Las dosis de N influyeron en el PMS, PB y la volatilización del amoníaco, por lo tanto, deben considerarse en la determinación de estrategias en el manejo del pasto.O presente estudo foi conduzido com o objetivo de avaliar a produção de massa seca da parte aérea e teor de proteína bruta da pastagem de Urochola brizantha cv. Marandu, além das perdas de amônia (N-NH3) por volatilização e a eficiência da adubação de fontes de fertilizantes nitrogenados e doses de nitrogênio aplicadas. O delineamento experimental foi em blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições, em esquema fatorial 3x3, os tratamentos consistiram na combinação de três fontes de nitrogênio (ureia, ureia com polímero e ureia com inibidor de urease NBPT (N-(n-butil) tiofosfórico triamida), três doses de N (50,100 e 150 kg ha-1 de N) e o controle (sem adubação) constituindo 10 tratamentos, com quatro repetições. A fonte nitrogenada que apresentou menores perdas de amônia (N-NH3) por volatilização foi a ureia tratada com inibidor de urease (NBPT), o pico de volatilização ocorreu no segundo dia após a aplicação do nitrogênio.
