Resumo: Objective: To identify the fears and challenges of health professionals in the face of this pandemic scenario of COVID-19, in the hospital context. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review, carried out in November 2020 in the databases: LILACS, MEDLINE, and SCIELO, using the following descriptors: COVID-19; health professionals and pandemic. Results and Discussion:  10 articles were analyzed which showed that this pandemic scenario, added to the fear of the unknown and the daily challenges to which they are exposed, led to a scenario of fear and challenges for health professionals, especially those who work at the front line. care for patients victims of COVID-19. Among the main challenges, the adjustments of the work routine, lack of personal protective equipment, training, diagnostic tests, knowledge about the disease, reduced number of professionals, in addition to fear of contagion and the possibility of infecting their family members stood out. Conclusion: Thus, it is hoped that the study can contribute, in some way, with reflections regarding the challenges faced by these workers, also becoming a time to reflect on their fears and uncertainties, emphasizing the need of implementing safety measures guided by science to favor the reduction of negative impacts on these health professionals.

Metodología: Se trata de una revisión integradora de la literatura, realizada en noviembre de 2020 en las bases de datos: LILACS, MEDLINE y SCIELO, utilizando los siguientes descriptores: COVID-19; profesionales de la salud y pandemia. Resultados y discusión:  Se analizaron 10 artículos que evidenciaron que este escenario pandémico, sumado al miedo a lo desconocido y a los desafíos diarios a los que están expuestos, generó un escenario de miedo y desafíos para los profesionales de la salud, especialmente aquellos que trabajan en primera línea. atención a pacientes víctimas de COVID-19. Entre los principales desafíos se destacaron los ajustes de la rutina laboral, falta de equipo de protección personal, capacitación, pruebas diagnósticas, conocimiento sobre la enfermedad, reducido número de profesionales, además del miedo al contagio y la posibilidad de contagiar a sus familiares. Conclusión: Así, se espera que el estudio pueda contribuir, de alguna manera, con reflexiones sobre los desafíos que enfrentan estos trabajadores, convirtiéndose también en un momento para reflexionar sobre sus miedos e incertidumbres, enfatizando la necesidad de implementar medidas de seguridad guiadas por la ciencia para favorecer la reducción de impactos negativos en estos profesionales de la salud.Objetivo: identificar os medos e desafios dos profissionais de saúde diante desse cenário de pandemia da COVID-19, no contexto hospitalar. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, realizada no mês de novembro de 2020 nas bases de dados: LILACS, MEDLINE, e SCIELO, utilizando-se os seguintes descritores: COVID-19; profissionais de saúde e pandemia. Resultados e Discussões: Foram analisados 10 artigos os quais evidenciaram que esse cenário de pandemia, somado ao medo do desconhecido e os desafios diários a que são expostos, acarretou um cenário de medo e desafios nos profissionais de saúde, especialmente naqueles que atuam na linha de frente de atendimento aos pacientes vítimas da COVID-19. Dentre os principais desafios, destacou-se as adequações da rotina do trabalho, falta de equipamento de proteção individual, treinamentos, testes diagnósticos, conhecimento acerca da doença, número reduzido de profissionais, além do medo de contágio e da possibilidade de infectarem seus familiares.
