Treatment of female crack users: An analysis from the literature

Resumo: Aims: Identify and analyze the published articles of female crack users treatment. Method: Integrative review of the literature, based on scientific productions available at the bases: BVSpsi, Pepsic, Socindex and Pubmed. Thirty-six qualitative and field studies were selected, which included women users of crack as study subjects. Results: Stigma was the main barrier to treatment. Authors reviewed suggest that a gender perspective should be adopted in the treatment of women who use crack, and the inclusion of the family can ease conflicts and favor care actions. Finally, authors mention that the use of safe rooms may be a protection factor against the various situations of violence present in the territory. Conclusion: It is essential to include women’s issues I the definition of treatment for women crack users. This article may indicate gaps in field surveys that need to be deepened and broadened to other realities.

Se seleccionaron 36 estudios cualitativos y de campo, con usuarias de crack. Resultados: El estigma fue la principal barrera para el tratamiento. Se indica que se adopte la perspectiva de género en el tratamiento de las usuarias de crack y la inclusión de la familia puede amenizar conflictos y favorecer acciones de cuidado. Se mencionan las salas de uso como factor de protección contra situaciones de violencia presentes en el territorio. Conclusión: Es fundamental incluir cuestiones relativas al femenino en la definición de las formas de tratamiento destinadas a esas mujeres. Este artículo puede indicar lagunas en los estudios de campo que necesitan ser profundizadas y ampliadas para otras realidades.Objetivo: Identificar e analisar as formas de tratamento direcionadas as mulheres usuárias de crack apresentadas na literatura. Selecionados 36 estudos qualitativos e de campo, com mulheres usuárias de crack como sujeitos do estudo. Resultados: O estigma foi a principal barreira para o tratamento. Indica-se que seja adotada a perspectiva de gênero no tratamento das usuárias de crack e a inclusão da família pode amenizar conflitos e favorecer ações de cuidado. Ressalta-se a menção das salas de uso como um fator de proteção contra as diversas situações de violência presentes no território. Conclusão: É fundamental incluir questões relativas ao feminino na definição das formas de tratamento destinadas as mulheres usuárias de crack.
