Are lipid profiles, the concentration of calories, sodium and human milk water suitable to be offered to dehydrated neonate?

Resumo: This study was conducted to analyze the lipid, caloric, sodium and water in colostrum, transitional milk and mature milk profile to assess whether the different phases of human milk are suitable to be offered to dehydrated term infant. A cross-sectional and quantitative design was chosen, using 44 human milk samples donated to the Human Milk Bank. As inclusion criteria, were selected samples of donors who exclusively breastfed. To evaluate the lipid profiles pools of the three phases were prepared, which were analyzed with the aid of electrospray ionization source mass spectrometry. Calorie, moisture and sodium analyzes were performed on individual samples using official AOAC methodologies. Lipid profiles indicated that pools may have important fatty acids that make up the triglycerides present in human milk lipids. The levels of sodium when evaluated individually varied significantly and in most samples were high when compared to the reference values. The average moisture content of mature milk was higher when compared to the other phases, which presented higher sodium content and lower moisture content (p<0.05). The statistical analysis by PCA separated the samples stood out in relation to the content of this mineral. The lipid profiles indicate the presence of essential fatty acids from the omega-6 and 3 families, important for the neurological development of neonates. The average sodium content found in mature milk is within the appropriate range for dehydrated neonate.

The average sodium content found in mature milk is within the appropriate range for dehydrated neonate.Este estudio se llevó a cabo para analizar el perfil lipídico, concentración de calorías, sodio y agua en muestras de calostro, leche de transición y leche madura, para evaluar si las diferentes fases de la leche materna son aptas para ser ofrecidas a neonatos a término deshidratados. Se eligió un diseño transversal y cuantitativo, utilizando 44 muestras de leche materna donadas al Human Milk Bank. Como criterio de inclusión se seleccionaron muestras de donantes que amamantaron exclusivamente. Para evaluar los perfiles de lípidos se prepararon pools de las tres fases, que se analizaron con la ayuda de espectrometría de masas con fuente de ionización por electropulverización. Se realizaron análisis de contenido calórico, de sodio y de humedad en muestras individuales utilizando metodologías oficiales de la AOAC. Los perfiles de lípidos indicaron que las piscinas pueden presentar importantes ácidos grasos que componen los triglicéridos presentes en los lípidos de la leche materna. Los niveles de sodio cuando se evaluaron individualmente variaron significativamente y en la mayoría de las muestras fueron altos, en comparación con los valores de referencia utilizados en las UCI neonatales. El contenido de humedad promedio de la leche madura fue mayor en comparación con las otras fases, que tuvieron mayor contenido de sodio y menor contenido de humedad (p <0.05). El análisis estadístico por PCA separó las muestras que se destacaron en relación al contenido de este mineral. Los perfiles lipídicos indican la presencia de ácidos grasos esenciales de las familias omega-6 y 3, que son importantes para el desarrollo neurológico de los recién nacidos. El contenido promedio de sodio que se encuentra en la leche madura está dentro de los límites apropiados para los recién nacidos deshidratados.Este estudo foi realizado para analisar o perfil lipídico, concentração de calorias, de sódio e água em amostras de colostro, leite de transição e leite maduro, para avaliar se as diferentes fases do leite humano são adequadas para serem oferecidas aos neonatos desidratados a termo. Foi escolhido delineamento transversal e quantitativo, utilizando 44 amostras de leite humano doados para o Banco de Leite Humano. Como critério de inclusão, foram selecionadas amostras de doadoras que amamentavam exclusivamente. Para avaliação dos perfis lipídicos foram preparados pools das três fases, que foram analisados com auxílio de espectrometria de massas com fonte de ionização por eletropulverização. As análises do teor calórico, sódio e umidade foram realizadas em amostras individuais utilizando-se metodologias oficiais da AOAC. Os perfis lipídicos indicaram que os pools podem apresentar importantes ácidos graxos que compõe os triglicerídeos presentes nos lipídios do leite humano. Os teores de sódio quando avaliados individualmente variaram significativamente e na maioria das amostras foram elevados, quando comparados aos valores de referência utilizados em UTIs neonatais. O teor médio de umidade do leite maduro foi maior quando comparado as demais fases, que apresentaram maiores teores de sódio e menores de umidade (p<0,05). A análise estatística por PCA separou as amostras se destacaram em relação ao teor deste mineral. Os perfis lipídicos indicam a presença de ácidos graxos essenciais das famílias ômega-6 e 3, importantes para o desenvolvimento neurológico dos neonatos.
