Resumo: | Adverse events are defined as an unexpected effect on the client's health, arising from the assistance of health professionals, which may occur due to malpractice or negligence. The challenges for improving patient safety and the quality of oncology services are linked together, as a strategy to reduce these adverse events, especially in the administration of antineoplastic agents. Therefore, the objective of this study was to investigate, based on the reports of nursing professionals, which care is taken to ensure the patient is undergoing chemotherapy. For this, a field study, with a qualitative approach, was carried out with 8 clinical nurses who work in an oncology service providing care to patients using chemotherapy. Data were collected in April and May 2021, through a questionnaire provided by google form and the data were analyzed according to the content analysis technique. The analysis of the material resulted in the proposition of two categories, category 1 discusses nursing care before, during and after the infusion of anticancer drugs and category 2 addresses the most recurrent adverse events in anticancer chemotherapy services and care adopted by Nursing team. It concluded that it is necessary to provide continuing education for working professionals, the development of specific care protocols and the dissemination of knowledge about the National Patient Safety Policy, so that they are essential tools for the reduction of adverse events. |

It concluded that it is necessary to provide continuing education for working professionals, the development of specific care protocols and the dissemination of knowledge about the National Patient Safety Policy, so that they are essential tools for the reduction of adverse events. Research, Society and Development2022-01-04info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/2518910.33448/rsd-v11i1.25189Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 No. 1; e20511125189Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 Núm. 1; e20511125189Research, Society and Development; v. 11 n. 1; e205111251892525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/25189/21796Copyright (c) 2022 Pedro Leite de Melo Filho; Ana Claudia Gomes Viana https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessMelo Filho, Pedro Leite de Viana , Ana Claudia Gomes 2022-01-16T18:08:18Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/25189Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:43:31.916117Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false |
