Evaluation of onion cultivars in agroecological production system in the municipality of Glória de Dourados, MS

Resumo: The aim of this work was to evaluate the productive capacity and adaptability of different cultivars of onion, in agroecological bases, in the edaphoclimatic conditions of the region of Grande Dourados, MS. The experiment was carried out in a Red Argisol, with a sandy texture. The experimental design was randomized blocks, with ten treatments for open-pollinated onion cultivars. The cultivars responded differently to agroecological cultivation in the edaphoclimatic conditions of the region. Vale Ouro IPA-11 and Red Creole had the highest plant heights, with 15.4 and 14.1 cm, respectively. All cultivars reached a transversal diameter of the bulb (63 to 74 mm) considered ideal for commercialization. The cultivars Texas Grano 502 (34 t ha-1), Crioula (34.4 t ha-1) and Vale Ouro - IPA 11 (34.9 ha-1) showed greater adaptability to cultivation on agroecological bases and high productive capacity in conditions to which they were submitted, reaching an average of productivity above the national average. These results can help in the choice of cultivars most adapted to the soil and climate conditions of the Grande Dourados-MS region, as well as to cultivation on agroecological bases, thus causing socioeconomic and environmental impacts and becoming a production alternative for family farmers in the region.

El experimento se realizó en un Argisol Rojo, de textura arenosa. El diseño experimental fue bloques al azar, con diez tratamientos para cultivares de cebolla de polinización abierta. Los cultivares respondieron de manera diferente al cultivo agroecológico en las condiciones edafoclimáticas de la región. Vale Ouro IPA-11 y Red Creole presentaron las mayores alturas de planta, con 15,4 y 14,1 cm, respectivamente. Todos los cultivares alcanzaron un diámetro transversal del bulbo (63 a 74 mm) considerado ideal para la comercialización. Los cultivares Texas Grano 502 (34 t ha-1), Crioula (34,4 t ha-1) y Vale Ouro - IPA 11 (34,9 ha-1) mostraron mayor adaptabilidad al cultivo sobre bases agroecológicas y alta capacidad productiva en las condiciones a las que se someten, alcanzando un promedio de productividad por encima del promedio nacional. Estos resultados pueden auxiliar en la elección de los cultivares más adaptados a las condiciones edafoclimáticas de la región del Grande Dourados-MS, así como al cultivo sobre bases agroecológicas, provocando así impactos socioeconómicos y ambientales y se convirtiéndo en una alternativa productiva para los agricultores familiares de la región.O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a capacidade produtiva e adaptabilidade de diferentes cultivares de cebola, em bases agroecológicas, nas condições edafoclimáticas da região da Grande Dourados, MS. O experimento foi realizado num Argissolo Vermelho, de textura arenosa. O delineamento experimental foi blocos casualizados, com dez tratamentos referentes às cultivares de cebola de polinização aberta. As cultivares responderam de maneira distinta ao cultivo agroecológico nas condições edafoclimáticas da região. Vale Ouro IPA-11 e Red Creole apresentaram as maiores alturas de planta, com 15,4 e 14,1 cm, respectivamente. Todas as cultivares alcançaram diâmetro transversal de bulbo (63 a 74 mm) considerado ideal para comercialização. As cultivares Texas Grano 502 (34 t ha-1), Crioula (34,4 t ha-1) e Vale Ouro - IPA 11 (34,9 ha-1) apresentaram maior adaptabilidade ao cultivo em bases agroecológicas e elevada capacidade produtiva nas condições as quais foram submetidas, alcançando média de produtividade superior à média nacional.
