Contribution of fisheries actors to the bioecology of the Commom Snook Centropomus undecimalis (CENTROPOMIDAE - PERCIFORMES) captured on the Brazilian Amazon coast

Resumo: | The aim of this study was to know and describe the bioecology of Centropomus undecimalis (Bloch, 1792), as to its local nomenclature, habitat, feeding, reproduction and migration, based on the knowledge of the actors of fishing, as well as to trace the socioeconomic profile of these workers. The data were obtained through semi-structured interviews with fishermen, masters and boat owners, between March and May 2019 in the municipality of Bragança, using the snowball technique. The data were tabulated and analyzed in spreadsheets using Microsoft Office Excel, Past and IRAMUTEQ software. The socioeconomic profile of the fishing players was similar in terms of age, education, time in fishing and income, except the last one, which varied significantly according to occupation / profession. This species is known locally as camurim, robalo and camurim-preto. It has being found along the Brazilian Amazon coast, distributed in 20 ethno-habitats. Some of these habitats, 49.1% are found in the coastal / marine environment, 47.1% in the estuarine and 3.8% in the freshwater sector. They feed, preferably on fish, followed by crustaceans and insects. This species reproduces throughout the year, however, with greater frequency between the months of June and December (rainy-dry transition period and dry period). Migration occurs due to local seasonality, life stage and habitat, influencing food, reproduction and growth. The results presented, from an integrated perspective of knowledge, can be a key element in the starting point for the management and conservation of this species on the Brazilian Amazon coast. |

Los datos se obtuvieron mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas dirigido a los pescadores, los maestros y los dueños de las embarcaciones, entre marzo y mayo de 2019 en el municipio de Bragança, utilizando la técnica de snowball. Los datos se tabularon y analizaron en hojas de cálculo utilizando el software Microsoft Office Excel, Past e IRAMUTEQ. El perfil socioeconómico de los actores de la pesca fue similar en cuanto a su edad, su educación, el tiempo en la pesca e ingreso económico, excepto este último, que varió significativamente según la ocupación/profesión. Esta especie se conoce localmente como camurim, robalo y camurim-preto. Se encuentra a lo largo del litoral amazónico brasileño, distribuido en 20 etno-hábitats. De estos, el 49,1% se encuentran en el medio marino/costero, el 47,1% en el estero y el 3,8% en el sector de agua dulce. Se alimentan, preferentemente de peces, de crustáceos e insectos.O objetivo deste trabalho foi conhecer e descrever a bioecologia do Centropomus undecimalis (Bloch, 1792), quanto a sua nomenclatura local, hábitat, alimentação, reprodução e migração, a partir do conhecimento dos atores da pesca, bem como, traçar o perfil socioeconômico desses trabalhadores. Destes, 49,1% encontram-se no ambiente costeiro/marinho, 47,1% no estuarino e 3,8% no dulcícola. Alimentam-se, preferencialmente de peixes, seguido de crustáceos e insetos. Essa espécie reproduz ao longo do ano, porém, com maior frequência entre os meses de junho e dezembro (período de transição chuvoso-seco e período seco). A migração ocorre em função da sazonalidade local, fase de vida e habitat, influenciando na alimentação, reprodução e crescimento.
