An application of proportion compass in basic education education to study the proportionality theorem

Resumo: Research focused on the history and teaching of mathematics, which allow dialogues based on their interfaces, are expanding in Brazil, mainly those developed through the study of historical mathematical instruments. Following the same perspective, this article presents an application of activity developed when studying the instrument, compass of proportion, contained in the treatise L'usage du compas de proportion published in 1631, by Didier Henrion. The objective is to show the application of the activity arising from handling and studying the historical instrument, the proportion compass, allowing to signify and re-signify the processes of geometric construction of the proportionality theorem. In which, the methodology is based on the qualitative approach, aided by group work in the application of the activity. Regarding the results, the autonomy of the students was highlighted for being able to investigate and try to solve the problem, in which it made it possible to remember concepts of parallelism, perpendicularism, line segments, straight lines, transversal lines, some even managed to identify that they were working with the theorem of proportionality. Therefore, it is concluded that from the use of lines of equal parts of the instrument compass of proportion it was possible to evidence didactic potential when studying theorem of proportionality through the process of development of the geometric design.

Siguiendo la misma perspectiva, este artículo presenta una aplicación de la actividad desarrollada al estudiar el instrumento, el compás de proporción, contenido en el tratado L'usage du compas de ratio publicado en 1631, por Didier Henrion. El objetivo es mostrar la aplicación de la actividad derivada del manejo y estudio del instrumento histórico, el compás de proporciones, que permite significar y resignificar los procesos de construcción geométrica del teorema de proporcionalidad. En el cual, la metodología se basa en el enfoque cualitativo, auxiliado por el trabajo en grupo en la aplicación de la actividad. En cuanto a los resultados, se destacó la autonomía de los estudiantes para poder investigar y tratar de resolver el problema, en el que permitió recordar conceptos de paralelismo, perpendicularismo, segmentos de recta, rectas, transversales, algunos incluso lograron identificar que estaban trabajando con el teorema de proporcionalidad. Por lo tanto, se concluye que a partir del uso de líneas de partes iguales del instrumento compás de proporción se pudo evidenciar potencial didáctico al estudiar el teorema de proporcionalidad a través del proceso de elaboración del diseño geométrico.As pesquisas voltadas a história e ensino de matemática que permitem diálogos a partir de suas interfaces, estão em expansão no Brasil, principalmente as desenvolvidas mediante os estudos de instrumentos históricos matemáticos. Seguindo a mesma perspectiva, este artigo apresenta uma aplicação de atividade desenvolvida ao estudar o instrumento, compasso de proporção, contido no tratado L’usage du compas de proportion publicado em 1631, por Didier Henrion. O objetivo é mostrar a aplicação da atividade advinda ao manusear e estudar o instrumento histórico, compasso de proporção, permitindo significar e ressignificar os processos de construção geométrica do teorema de proporcionalidade. Na qual, a metodologia está fundamentada na abordagem qualitativa, auxiliada pelo trabalho em grupo na aplicação da atividade. Em relação aos resultados, destacou-se a autonomia dos alunos por conseguir investigar e tentar solucionar o problema, em que possibilitou relembrar conceitos de paralelismo, perpendicularismo, segmentos de retas, retas, retas transversais, alguns até conseguiram identificar que estavam trabalhando com o teorema da proporcionalidade.
