Resumo: Objectives: To analyze the coping strategies in mental health used by the elderly in their daily lives evidenced in the scientific literature. Describe the coping strategies focused on problems. Identify coping strategies focused on emotion. Assess changes in coping strategies in the face of social isolation. Methods: Study of integrative literature review. The following databases were used: Medical Literature Analysisand Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) and Nursing Database (BDENF), through the Virtual Health Library (VHL). Scientific articles published from 2015 to 2020. The search for scientific articles was carried out in the months of September and October 2020. He was registered at the Coordination for Research, Extension and Graduate Studies, under process nº 028/2020. Results: After selection in the databases, 2243 articles related to the descriptors were found, using the inclusion criteria, only 298 articles were left. Made a very careful reading of them and discarding those that had no relation to the theme, totaling 13 articles. The results were organized using a table. Conclusion: Many coping strategies are used, the most used are those that reinforce ties with family members, rescue memories from the past and involve religious practices. With the pandemic caused by COVID-19, these coping strategies were adapted.

Describe estrategias de afrontamiento centradas en problemas. Identificar estrategias de afrontamiento centradas en la emoción. Evaluar cambios en las estrategias de afrontamiento ante el aislamiento social. Métodos: Estudio de revisión integradora de la literatura. Se utilizaron las siguientes bases de datos: Sistema de Análisis y Recuperación de Literatura Médica en Línea (MEDLINE), Literatura Latinoamericana y del Caribe en Ciencias de la Salud (LILACS) y Base de Datos de Enfermería (BDENF), a través de la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud (BVS). Artículos científicos publicados de 2015 a 2020. La búsqueda de artículos científicos se realizó en los meses de septiembre y octubre de 2020. Se registró en la Coordinación de Investigación, Extensión y Postgrado, con el trámite nº 028/2020. Resultados: Luego de la selección en las bases de datos, se encontraron 2243 artículos relacionados con los descriptores, utilizando los criterios de inclusión, solo quedaron 298 artículos. Hizo una lectura muy atenta de los mismos y descartando aquellos que no tuvieran relación con el tema, totalizando 13 artículos. Los resultados se organizaron mediante una tabla. Conclusión: Se utilizan muchas estrategias de afrontamiento, siendo las más utilizadas las que refuerzan los lazos con sus familias, recuperando recuerdos del pasado e involucrando prácticas religiosas. Con la pandemia causada por COVID-19, hubo una adaptación en estas estrategias de afrontamiento.Objetivos: Analisar as estratégias de enfrentamento em saúde mental utilizadas por idosos em seu cotidiano evidenciadas na literatura científica. Descrever as estratégias de enfrentamento focadas em problemas. Identificar as estratégias de enfrentamento centradas na emoção. Avaliar as alterações nas estratégias de enfrentamento diante do isolamento social. Métodos: Estudo de revisão integrativa da literatura. Foram utilizadas as seguintes bases de dados: Medical Literature Analysisand Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS) e Base de Dados de Enfermagem (BDENF), por meio da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS). Artigos científicos publicados de 2015 a 2020. A busca dos artigos científicos foi realizada nos meses de setembro e outubro de 2020. Foi cadastrado na Coordenação de Pesquisa, Extensão e Pós-Graduação, sob o processo nº 028/2020. Resultados: Após seleção nas bases de dados foram encontrados 2243 artigos relacionados aos descritores, usando os critérios de inclusão ficaram-se apenas 298 artigos. Feito a leitura muito criteriosa dos mesmos e descartando aqueles que não tinham relação com a temática, totalizando 13 artigos. Os resultados foram organizados através de um quadro. Conclusão: São usadas muitas estratégias de enfrentamento, sendo que as mais utilizadas são as que reforçam os laços com seus familiares, resgate de lembranças do passado e envolvendo praticas religiosas.
