Resumo: Studies and surveys around the world reveal that many patients infected with the coronavirus needed to be admitted to the ICU for a limited period. This study aimed to analyze the trend of coronavirus-related cases and deaths in an intensive care unit. The method of analysis was an integrative review carried out through the Virtual Health Library using the following descriptors: Nursing. Coronavirus. Intensive care unit. Mortality. It was observed that the interventions adopted to stop the transmission of COVID-19 are based on scientific criteria that justify them. Through this study, it was possible to analyze the behavior, the number of cases and deaths of this disease in Brazil and in the world, providing informational values ​​that can help managers in planning strategic actions for the prevention, monitoring and control of the pandemic and, proposing, adjust the current needs and enhance actions that will contribute to the reduction of cases and deaths.

Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar la tendencia de los casos y muertes relacionados con el coronavirus en una unidad de cuidados intensivos. El método de análisis fue una revisión integradora realizada a través de la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud utilizando los siguientes descriptores: Enfermería. Coronavirus. Unidad de terapia intensiva. Mortalidad. Se observó que las intervenciones adoptadas para detener la transmisión de COVID-19 se basan en criterios científicos que las justifican. A través de este estudio, fue posible analizar el comportamiento, el número de casos y muertes de esta enfermedad en Brasil y en el mundo, proporcionando valores informativos que pueden ayudar a los gestores en la planificación de acciones estratégicas para la prevención, seguimiento y control de la pandemia y, proponiendo, ajustar las necesidades actuales y potenciar acciones que contribuyan a la reducción de casos y muertes.Estudos e pesquisas em todo o mundo, revelam que muitos pacientes infectados pelo coronavírus precisaram de internação na UTI por um período limitado. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo analisar a tendência de casos e óbitos relacionados a Covid-19 em unidade de terapia intensiva. O método de análise foi revisão integrativa realizada por meio da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde utilizando como descritores: Enfermagem. Coronavírus. Unidade de Terapia Intensiva. Mortalidade. Observou-se que as intervenções adotadas para deter a transmissão do coronavírus sejam embasadas em critérios científicos que as justifiquem.
