Use of different saline concentrations of the nutrient solution in the production of lettuce cultivars in hydroponic cultivation

Resumo: Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is considered the most consumed leafy vegetable in Brazil and in the world, contributing to the generation of jobs and income. In Brazil, the cultivation of this vegetable in a hydroponic system has grown, but there is no consensus between the electrical conductivity of the ideal nutrient solution (CEs) for cultivation, especially in regions. The objective was to evaluate the productive performance of two cultivars of lettuce according to different saline concentrations of the nutrient solution. A completely randomized design (DIC) was used in subdivided plots, with a 2x5 factorial scheme, with three replications. The lettuce cultivars were distributed in the plots (V1 = "Astra" and V2 "Bruma"). In the subplots, solutions with electrical conductivities (CEs) of: CEs1 = 0.5 were tested; CEs2 = 1.0; CEs3 = 1.5; CEs4 = 2.0 and CEs5 = 2.5 dS m-1. Kristalon orange 6-12-36, Calcium Nitrate and Tenso Cocktail were used to compose the nutrient solution. The fresh root mass of the cultivars Astra and Bruma behaved in a quadratic manner, increasing the CEs to 1.37 dS m-1. The length of the stem was influenced by the increasing salinity levels of the nutrient solution. There was an increase in the fresh weight of the aerial part up to the CEs of 1.31 dS m-1 for the cultivar Bruma and 1.03 dS m-1 for the cultivar Astra. The largest head circumference was estimated with the EC of 1.01 dS m-1 for Astra cultivar and 0.94 dS m-1 for Bruma cultivar. The CEs that provided the best production results were 1.31 and 1.03 dS m-1 for the cultivars Bruma and Astra respectively.

En Brasil, el cultivo de esta hortaliza en sistema hidropónico ha crecido, pero no existe consenso entre la conductividad eléctrica de la solución nutritiva ideal (CE) para el cultivo, especialmente en regiones. El objetivo fue evaluar el comportamiento productivo de dos cultivares de lechuga según diferentes concentraciones salinas de la solución nutritiva. Se utilizó un diseño completamente al azar (DIC) en parcelas subdivididas, con esquema factorial 2x5, con tres repeticiones. Los cultivares de lechuga se distribuyeron en las parcelas (V1 = "Astra" y V2 "Bruma"). En las subparcelas, se probaron soluciones con conductividades eléctricas (CE) de: CE1 = 0,5; CEs2 = 1,0; CEs3 = 1,5; CEs4 = 2.0 y CEs5 = 2.5 dS m-1. Kristalon orange 6-12-36, Calcium Nitrate y Tenso Cocktail se utilizaron para componer la solución nutritiva. La masa de raíces frescas de los cultivares Astra y Bruma se comportó de manera cuadrática, aumentando los CE a 1.37 dS m-1. La longitud del tallo se vio influenciada por los niveles crecientes de salinidad de la solución nutritiva. Hubo un incremento en el peso fresco de la parte aérea hasta los CEs de 1.31 dS m-1 para el cultivar Bruma y 1.03 dS m-1 para el cultivar Astra. La mayor circunferencia de la cabeza se estimó con la CE de 1.01 dS m-1 para el cultivar Astra y 0.94 dS m-1 para el cultivar Bruma. Objetivou-se avaliar o desempenho produtivo de duas cultivares de alface em função de diferentes concentrações salina da solução nutritiva. Utilizou-se o Deliniamento Inteiramente ao Acaso (DIC) em parcelas subdivididas, com esquema fatorial de 2x5, com três repetições. Nas parcelas foram distribuídas as cultivar de alface americana (V1 = “Astra” e V2 “Bruma”). Nas subparcelas foram testadas as soluções com condutividades elétricas (CEs) de: CEs1 = 0,5; CEs2 = 1,0; CEs3 = 1,5; CEs4 = 2,0 e CEs5 = 2,5 dS m-1. Para composição da solução nutritiva utilizou Kristalon laranja 6-12-36, Nitrato de Cálcio e Tenso Cocktail. A massa fresca da raiz das cultivares Astra e Bruma se comportaram de forma quadrática, aumentando até a CEs de 1,37 dS m-1. O comprimento do caule teve seu resultado influenciado pelos níveis crescente de salinidade da solução nutritiva. Houve incremento da massa fresca da parte aérea até a CEs de 1,31 dS m-1 para a cultivar Bruma e 1,03 dS m-1 para a cultivar Astra. O maior perímetro da cabeça foi estimado com a CE de 1,01 dS m-1 para a cultivar Astra e 0,94 dS m-1 para a cultivar Bruma.
