Climatic influence on vegatation in a coastal area in the municipality of Calçoene, Amapá, Brazil

Resumo: The objective of this work was to evaluate the spatio-temporal evolution of the vegetation cover in the Goiabal area, in the municipality of Calçoene/AP, observing the vegetation dynamics in relation to the influences of El Niño and La Niña climatic phenomena. The analyzes were performed at 5-year intervals, in the years 2010, 2015 and 2020, using orbital data from satellite images, based on active chlorophyll reflectance (NDVI - Normalized Difference Vegetation Index). The images used were from the LANDSAT 5 / TM sensor (Thematic Mapper) and LANDSAT 8 / OLI (Operation Land Imager) and TIRS (Thermal Infrared Sensor) sensors. The NDVI for the dense vegetation class ranged from 0.301 to 0.857, as the lowest value for the year 2015 where the occurrence of the phenomenon (El Niño) is classified as strong intensity, the sparse vegetation class has NDVI values ​​ranging from 0.155 to 0.804, exposed soil ranges from -0.050 to 0.301, with the highest value referring to the year 2015, which has the highest area growth among the classes. The year 2010 is classified as moderate (La Niña) and 2020 as weak intensity (El Niño), not causing major changes in the observed classes. The application of NDVI allowed identifying the vegetation dynamics present in the area and evaluating its changes over time. The Goiabal area has undergone changes in vegetation cover.

Los análisis se realizaron en intervalos de 5 años, en los años 2010, 2015 y 2020, utilizando datos orbitales de imágenes de satélite, basados ​​en la reflectancia activa de la clorofila (NDVI - Normalized Difference Vegetation Index). Las imágenes utilizadas fueron del sensor LANDSAT 5/TM (Thematic Mapper) y de los sensores LANDSAT 8/OLI (Operation Land Imager) y TIRS (Thermal Infrared Sensor). El NDVI para la clase de vegetación densa varió de 0.301 a 0.857, siendo el valor más bajo para el año 2015 donde la ocurrencia del fenómeno (El Niño) se cataloga como de fuerte intensidad, la clase de vegetación dispersa tiene valores de NDVI que van de 0.155 a 0.804, el suelo expuesto varía de -0.050 a 0.301, con el valor más alto referido al año 2015, que tiene el crecimiento de área más alto entre las clases. El año 2010 se clasifica como de intensidad moderada (La Niña) y el 2020 como de intensidad débil (El Niño), no provocando mayores cambios en las clases observadas. La aplicación del NDVI permitió identificar la dinámica de la vegetación presente en la zona y evaluar sus cambios en el tiempo. O NDVI para classe vegetação densa variou entre 0.301 a 0.857, como valor mais baixo referente ao ano de 2015 onde a ocorrência do fenômeno (El Niño) é classificada como intensidade forte, a classe vegetação esparsa apresenta valores de NDVI que variam entre 0.155 a 0.804, solo exposto varia entre -0.050 a 0.301, sendo valor mais alto referente ao ano de 2015, que apresenta o maior crescimento de área entre as classes. O ano de 2010 é classificado como moderado (La Niña) e 2020 de intensidade fraca (El Niño), não provocando grandes alterações nas classes observadas. A aplicação do NDVI permitiu identificar a dinâmica vegetal presente na área e avaliar suas alterações ao longo do tempo.
