Resumo: The cashew tree is a tree native to the Northeastern coast in Brazil, of great economic, nutritional and cultural representation in the region. The article aims to promote information about cashews as a source of relevant nutrients for maintaining health in periods of prolonged drought and the economic obstacles faced by cashew cultivation, through a bibliographic review of scientific literature on the subject. Cashew is made up of pseudofruit, a fleshy and juicy part, rich in vitamin C and fiber, and its true fruit, the chestnut, an important source of energy and nutrients in the diet. The cashew nut has a prominent place as an export product in Brazil, however in recent years due to phytopathologies, pests, long droughts and problems in its processing have led to the decline of its economic position, causing the fall of Brazil's competitiveness as an exporting country of this product. Governmental measures that value the consumption of national fruits, focusing on their nutritional and cultural value can help the economic recovery of this cultivate.

El artículo tiene como objetivo promover la información sobre el anacardo como fuente de nutrientes relevantes, para el mantenimiento de la salud en períodos de sequía prolongada y los obstáculos económicos que enfrenta Cajucultura, mediante una revisión bibliográfica de la literatura científica sobre el tema. El anacardo está compuesto por pseudofrutas, una parte carnosa y suculenta, rica en vitamina C y fibra, y su verdadero fruto, la castaña, importante fuente de energía y nutrientes en la dieta. El anacardo tiene un lugar destacado como producto de exportación en Brasil, sin embargo en los últimos años debido a fitopatologías, plagas, largas sequías y problemas en su procesamiento han llevado al declive de su posición económica, provocando la caída de la competitividad de Brasil como exportador. país ese producto. Las medidas gubernamentales que valoran el consumo de frutas nacionales, enfocándose en su valor nutricional y cultural pueden ayudar a la recuperación económica de este cultivar.O cajueiro é uma árvore nativa do litoral Nordestino no Brasil, de grande representatividade econômica, nutricional e cultural da região. O artigo tem por objetivo promover informações acerca do caju como fonte de nutrientes relevantes, para a manutenção da saúde em períodos de seca prolongada e os obstáculos econômicos enfrentados pela Cajucultura, por meio de uma revisão bibliográfica de literatura cientifica a respeito do tema. O caju é constituído do pseudofruto, parte carnosa e suculenta, rica em vitamina C e fibras, e seu fruto verdadeiro, a castanha, importante fonte de energia e nutrientes na alimentação. A castanha de caju tem lugar de destaque como produto de exportação no Brasil, entretanto nos últimos anos devido a fitopatologias, pragas, longas estiagens e problemas no seu processamento levaram ao declínio de sua posição econômica, ocasionando a queda da competitividade do Brasil como país exportador desse produto.
