Resumo: Objective: To describe the profile of self-reported chronic pain in university students in the city of Nazaré da Mata, Pernambuco. Methodology: A cross-sectional epidemiological study was carried out with 40 students regularly enrolled in health courses who had chronic pain for a period of at least six months. Results: The results showed a young audience between 18-30 years old (75%), being the female sex prevalent (90%), and the most affected body sites were: head region (23.3%) and lumbar spine (19,2%). Most do not perform physical activity (55%), do not consume alcoholic beverages (65%), have not been diagnosed with pain (65%) and self-medicate (77.5%). Based on the research data, the finding of the profile of chronic pain in university students was obtained at Faculdade Santíssima Trindade in the city of Nazaré da Mata in the state of Pernambuco, being the majority in women, with the most affected body site being the head region followed by the lumbar region. Conclusion: This article contributes to the survey of the profile and prevalence of university students with chronic pain, directing attention to a particular public. However, further studies are needed to show the impact that chronic pain can have on the Brazilian population.

Metodología: Se trata de un estudio epidemiológico transversal, realizado con 40 estudiantes matriculados regularmente en cursos de salud y que presentaron dolor crónico durante un período de al menos seis meses. Resultados: Los resultados mostraron un público joven entre 18-30 años (75%), sexo femenino (90%), y los sitios del cuerpo más afectados fueron: región de la cabeza (23,3%) y columna lumbar (19,2%). La mayoría no realiza actividad física (55%), no consume bebidas alcohólicas (65%), no obtuvo diagnóstico de dolor (65%) y automedicación (77,5%). Conclusión: Con base en los datos de la investigación, se obtuvo el hallazgo del perfil de dolor crónico en estudiantes universitarios en la Faculdade Santíssima Trindade en la ciudad de Nazaré da Mata en el estado de Pernambuco, siendo la mayoría en mujeres, siendo el sitio del cuerpo más afectado la cabeza seguida de la región lumbar. Este artículo contribuye al relevamiento del perfil y prevalencia de universitarios con dolor crónico, dirigiendo la atención a un público particular. Sin embargo, se necesitan más estudios para mostrar el impacto que el dolor crónico puede tener en la población brasileña.Objetivo: Descrever o perfil da dor crônica autorreferida em estudantes universitários da cidade de Nazaré da Mata, Pernambuco. Metodologia: Estudo epidemiológico transversal, realizado com 40 estudantes regularmente matriculados nos cursos da área de saúde e que apresentaram dor crônica por um período, mínimo, de seis meses. Resultados: Os resultados apresentaram um público jovem entre 18-30 anos (75%), sendo prevalente o sexo feminino (90%), e os locais do corpo mais afetados foram: região da cabeça (23,3%) e coluna lombar (19,2%). A maioria não realiza atividade física (55%), não consomem bebidas alcóolicas (65%), não obtiveram diagnóstico da dor (65%) e fazem automedicação (77,5%). Conclusão: Com base nos dados da pesquisa obteve-se o achado do perfil de dor crônica nos estudantes universitários Faculdade Santíssima Trindade na cidade de Nazaré da Mata no estado de Pernambuco sendo majoritária em mulheres sendo o local do corpo mais afetado a região da cabeça seguido da lombar.
