Production of Sciaenidae (Teleostei) landed on a pole fishing in the North of Brazil

Resumo: | The present study analysed the production of Sciaenidae landed in the main ports of Ajuruteua peninsula (Bragança-PA). Data was collected in April 2008 to November 2010. Bragança port stands by high production (3750 kg) while Taperaçu shows higher of catch per unit of effort (CPUE), with 511.5 kg/prodution (kg)/days at sea*number of fisherman. King weakfish (Macrodon ancylodon) was the most landed Sciaenidae and small scale artisanal vessels were most representative in the catches of this specie, as well as traps and gill nets. The maximum sustainable yield (MSY) was above the limit for M. ancylodon, thus denoting a tendency for overfishing of this species. We’re not observed defined patterns between rainfall, fishing production and CPUE in general. In Sciaenidae fishing of the Brazilian North coast are multiespecific without clear distinction of a characteristic fishing production system. |

Los datos se recopilaron de abril de 2008 a noviembre de 2010. El puerto de Bragança tuvo la producción más alta (3750 kg), mientras que el puerto de Taperaçu presentó la CPUE (captura por unidad de esfuerzo) más alta, con 18 064 kg/producción (kg)/días en el mar*número de pescadores. El pescado gó (Macrodon ancylodon) fue el sciaenide más desembarcado y la canoa de remo y/o vela (CAN) y el bote pequeño (BPP) fueron los tipos más representativos de embarcaciones en la captura de esta especie, así como la trampa fija (BPP) y la red móvil (CAN). La captura máxima sostenible (MSY) estaba por encima del límite de M. ancylodon; lo que denota una tendencia de la sobrepesca de esta especie. No se observaron patrones definidos entre la precipitación, la producción y el CPUE para especies en general. Las pesquerías de sciaenidas en esta región de la costa norte de Brasil son multiespecíficas, sin la clara distinción de un sistema de pesca característico. O presente estudo analisou a produção desembarcada de Sciaenidae (Telostei) nos principais portos da península de Ajuruteua (Bragança-PA). Os dados foram coletados no período de abril de 2008 a novembro de 2010. O porto de Bragança se destacou pela maior produção (3750 kg) enquanto o porto do Taperaçu apresentou a maior CPUE (captura por unidade de esforço), com 18 064 kg/produção (kg)/dias ao mar*número de pescadores. A pescadinha gó (Macrodon ancylodon) foi o sciaenideo mais desembarcado e a canoa movida a remo e/ou vela (CAN) e barco de pequeno porte (BPP) foram os tipos de embarcações mais representativos nas capturas desta espécie, assim como a armadilha fixa (BPP) e a rede móvel (CAN). A captura máxima sustentável (MSY) esteve acima do limite para M. ancylodon, denotando assim, uma tendência à sobrepesca dessa espécie. Não se observaram padrões definidos entre a precipitação e a produção e CPUE para as espécies em geral.
