Didactic sequence grounded in experimentation: A strategy for teaching periodic table and chemical reactions using low-cost alternative materials

Resumo: The present research focuses on the use of experimental activities carried out with alternative materials in Chemistry classes at a public school in the municipality of Dom Pedrito. The main focus is to investigate whether the use of these activities can or cannot enhance the teaching and learning process in Chemistry. Thus, we aimed to answer the following question: How to enhance the teaching and learning process in Chemistry through the use of experimental activities with alternative and low-cost materials in public schools in the city of Dom Pedrito? The target audience consisted of 9th-grade students from a public school in the municipality. Two didactic sequences (DS) based on experimental activities and alternative materials were developed and implemented. The results revealed significant contributions regarding students' learning.

El enfoque principal es investigar si el uso de estas actividades puede potenciar o no el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje en Química. De esta manera, planteamos responder a la siguiente pregunta: ¿Cómo favorecer el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje de Química mediante el uso de actividades experimentales con materiales alternativos y de bajo costo en las escuelas públicas de la ciudad de Dom Pedrito? El público objetivo fueron estudiantes del 9º año de la educación primaria de una escuela pública de la ciudad. Se elaboraron y aplicaron dos secuencias didácticas (SD) basadas en actividades experimentales y materiales alternativos. Los resultados revelaron contribuciones relevantes en lo que respecta al aprendizaje de los estudiantes.A presente pesquisa versa sobre a utilização de atividades experimentais realizadas com materiais alternativos em aulas de Química em uma escola pública do município de Dom Pedrito. Tendo como foco principal investigar se a utilização destas atividades pode ou não potencializar o processo de ensino e aprendizagem em Química. Desta forma, propusemos responder a seguinte questão: Como favorecer o processo de ensino e aprendizagem de Química, por meio da utilização de atividades experimentais com materiais alternativos e de baixo custo em escolas públicas da cidade de Dom Pedrito? O público-alvo foram estudantes do 9° ano do ensino fundamental de uma escola pública do município. Foram elaboradas e aplicadas duas sequências didáticas (SD) fundamentadas em atividades experimentais e materiais alternativos.
