Resumo: The objective of this research was to evaluate the epidemiological profile and the predominant pathologies that lead health professionals from a federal university to leave work due to illness. This is a cross-sectional, retrospective study, whose target population is health professionals who work at a university hospital, at a federal university, and who left work due to illness in 2019. The results found showed that most professionals at the university hospital who became ill were female (N= 92, 86.80%), occupied the position of nursing assistant (N= 47, 44.30%), with a median leave of absence of 23 (IIQ; 11-90 ) days. The main causes of illness at health campus were musculoskeletal and connective tissue diseases (N=109, 22.15%) and mental and behavioral disorders (N=72, 14.63%). With this study, it was verified that a more in-depth assessment of mental health and ergonomic conditions to which these workers are submitted is important.

Research, Society and Development2022-05-22info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/3002210.33448/rsd-v11i7.30022Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 No. 7; e24011730022Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 Núm. 7; e24011730022Research, Society and Development; v. 11 n. 7; e240117300222525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/30022/25825Copyright (c) 2022 Verônica Figueiredo Barreto; Maristela Böhlke; Danilo Barreto Filhohttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessBarreto, Verônica FigueiredoBöhlke, MaristelaBarreto Filho, Danilo2022-06-06T15:12:05Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/30022Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:46:55.534554Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
