Territorial Governance/Instances of Governance for Tourism Development in the Serras e Lago tourist region in Tocantins

Resumo: In this article, the focus of considerations turns to the contour of the tourist region of Serras e Lago in the state of Tocantins and the importance of the performance of governance instances for regional tourism in the face of domestic tourism opportunities. The State of Tocantins has an expressive vocation for adventure tourism, cultural tourism and ecotourism. The segments are directly related to the principles of environmental, social and economic sustainability. Domestic tourism in Brazil has found significant opportunities in light of the sanitary conditions caused by COVID-19. The Ministry of Tourism reveals the increase in demand for national destinations to the detriment of international destinations. With this, tourist regions still little explored find alternatives to boost the development of the activity. However, the need for planning, organization and monitoring become a condition for the realization of alternatives. In this context, the role of governance instances assumes a leading role. To navigate the sea of opportunities identified by domestic tourism in Brazil, the state of Tocantins needs to position itself in an organized and planned manner to develop its potential associated with the management and performance of future and current governance instances.

El Estado de Tocantins tiene una expresiva vocación por el turismo de aventura, el turismo cultural y el ecoturismo. Segmentos que asumen una relación directa con los principios de sustentabilidad ambiental, social y económica. El turismo interno en Brasil ha encontrado importantes oportunidades ante las condiciones sanitarias provocadas por el COVID-19. Los datos del Ministerio de Turismo revelan un aumento de la demanda de los destinos nacionales en detrimento de los destinos internacionales. Con ello, regiones turísticas aún poco exploradas encuentran alternativas para impulsar el desarrollo de la actividad. Sin embargo, la necesidad de planificación, organización y seguimiento se convierte en una condición para la realización de alternativas. En este contexto, el papel de los órganos de gobierno asume un papel protagónico. Para surcar el mar de oportunidades identificadas por el turismo interno en Brasil, el estado de Tocantins necesita posicionarse de manera organizada y planificada en el sentido de desarrollar su potencial asociado a la gestión y actuación de los órganos de gobierno futuros y actuales.No presente artigo o foco das considerações e debates está voltado para o recorte da região turística Serras e Lago no estado do Tocantins e a importância da atuação das instâncias de governança para o turismo regional relacionado as oportunidades do turismo doméstico. O Estado do Tocantins apresenta expressiva vocação para o turismo de aventura, turismo cultural e ecoturismo, segmentos que pressupõem relação direta com os princípios da sustentabilidade ambiental, social e econômica. O Turismo doméstico no Brasil tem encontrado significativas oportunidades frente às condições sanitárias causadas pela COVID-19. Dados do Ministério do Turismo revelam o aumento da procura por destinos nacionais em detrimento dos destinos internacionais. Com isso, regiões turísticas ainda pouco exploradas encontram alternativas para impulsionar o desenvolvimento da atividade. Todavia a necessidade do planejamento, organização e acompanhamento, tornam-se condicionante para a concretização das alternativas.
