Resumo: The present study seeks to know how quality management can contribute to the reduction of nonconformity in the furniture industries of Carmo do Cajuru, MG. To reach the proposed objective, it was necessary to know the processes of quality control of the companies; identify the main causes of customer complaints regarding product quality; how these complaints are handled. Aiming to demonstrate the importance of quality tools and programs and how to use them in a correct way helps companies reduce waste, returns and achieve customer satisfaction. In the course of this study, as a methodology, a study was developed of multi-sites in some furniture companies in Carmo do Cajuru, as well as bibliographic material and documentation provided by companies. The results show that, when organizations use quality tools, they can identify the origin of defects and can thus develop actions for continuous improvement of processes and treatment of nonconformities; on the other hand, those who do not use the tools or perform an adequate quality control can not measure these indices. Quality is only achieved when companies use management systems and effectively implement their methods, thus involving all parties. The company A, which, even mapping all the information, still shows a high index of nonconformity, being able to improve them if they use the results found in the decision making.

Para lograr el objetivo propuesto, era necesario conocer los procesos de control de calidad de las empresas; identificar las principales causas de las quejas de los clientes con respecto a la calidad del producto; mapear cómo se manejan estas quejas. Con el objetivo de demostrar la importancia de herramientas y programas de calidad y cómo su uso correcto ayuda a las empresas a reducir la chatarra, las devoluciones y lograr la satisfacción del cliente. En el curso de este estudio, se llevó a cabo un estudio de casos múltiples como metodología en algunas empresas de muebles de Carmo do Cajuru, así como la investigación sobre material bibliográfico y documentación proporcionada por las empresas. Los resultados muestran que cuando las organizaciones usan herramientas de calidad, pueden identificar el origen de los defectos y, por lo tanto, pueden desarrollar acciones para la mejora continua del proceso y abordar las no conformidades; Por otro lado, aquellos que no usan las herramientas o realizan un control de calidad adecuado no pueden medir estos índices. La calidad solo se logra cuando las empresas utilizan sistemas de gestión y ponen en práctica sus métodos de manera efectiva, con la participación de todas las partes. La empresa A, que, a pesar de mapear toda la información, aún muestra una alta tasa de no conformidad y puede mejorarla si utiliza los resultados encontrados en la toma de decisiones.O presente estudo busca conhecer como a gestão da qualidade pode contribuir para a redução da não conformidade em indústrias moveleiras de Carmo do Cajuru, MG. Para atingir o objetivo proposto, foi necessário conhecer os processos de controle de qualidade das empresas; identificar as principais causas de reclamações de clientes em relação à qualidade dos produtos; mapear como são tratadas essas reclamações. Objetivando demonstrar a importância das ferramentas e programas de qualidade e como o seu uso de maneira correta auxilia as empresas na redução de refugos, de devoluções e alcance da satisfação de seus clientes. No decorrer deste estudo, foi desenvolvido, como metodologia, um estudo de multicasos em algumas empresas de móveis de Carmo do Cajuru, além de pesquisas em material bibliográfico e documentação fornecida pelas empresas. Os resultados mostram que, quando as organizações utilizam ferramentas da qualidade, conseguem identificar a origem de defeitos e podem, assim, desenvolver ações para melhoria contínua dos processos e tratativa das desconformidades; por outro lado, as que não utilizam as ferramentas nem realizam um controle de qualidade adequado não conseguem mensurar esses índices. A qualidade somente é alcançada quando as empresas utilizam sistemas de gerenciamento e colocam em prática de forma eficaz seus métodos, tendo, portanto, o envolvimento de todas as partes.
