Physical teacher training and modern and contemporary Physics: the case of the Sobral public network

Resumo: Considering the growing discussions about the insertion of topics of Modern and Contemporary Physics (MCP) in Basic Education and the research that deals with the formation of Physics teachers in these contents, a qualitative and quantitative research was developed, using a semi-structured questionnaire as a collection instrument of data, with all physics teachers in all public high schools (HS) in the city of Sobral - CE, who graduated after the year 2002, totaling 15 teachers in 13 schools, aiming to discuss and analyze the aspects related to the teaching of these themes during the graduation of teachers, as well as their implications for HS. It was observed that: the difficulties they had in the study of these subjects during graduation are related to Mathematics; the most recurrent assessment tool was evidence; and that the mathematical aspect of MCP was the one most worked on by the teacher teachers, neglecting the conceptual, historical and experimental aspects of these subjects, for example. Regarding teaching, it was noticed that the class time that teachers have in the HS and the curriculum are the main obstacles faced by teacher.

Regarding teaching, it was noticed that the class time that teachers have in the HS and the curriculum are the main obstacles faced by teacher.Considerando las crecientes discusiones sobre la inserción de temas de Física Moderna y Contemporánea (FMC) en Educación Básica y la investigación que trata sobre la formación de maestros de Física en estos contenidos, se desarrolló una investigación cualitativa y cuantitativa, utilizando un cuestionario semiestructurado como instrumento de recolección de datos, con todos los maestros de física en todas las escuelas secundarias públicas (ES) en la ciudad de Sobral - CE, que se graduaron después del año 2002, con un total de 15 maestros en 13 escuelas, con el objetivo de discutir y analizar el aspectos relacionados con la enseñanza de estos temas durante la graduación de los docentes, así como sus implicaciones para la ES. Se observó que: las dificultades que tuvieron en el estudio de estas materias durante la graduación están relacionadas con las matemáticas; la herramienta de evaluación más recurrente fue la evidencia; y que el aspecto matemático de FMC fue el más trabajado por los maestros docentes, descuidando los aspectos conceptuales, históricos y experimentales de estas materias, por ejemplo. Con respecto a la enseñanza, se observó que el tiempo de clase que los maestros tienen en la ES y el plan de estudios son los principales obstáculos que enfrentan los maestros.Considerando as crescentes discussões acerca da inserção de tópicos de Física Moderna e Contemporânea (FMC) na Educação Básica e as pesquisas que tratam da formação dos professores de Física nesses conteúdos, foi desenvolvida uma pesquisa qualitativa e quantitativa, utilizando um questionário semiestruturado como instrumento de coleta de dados, com todos os professores de Física em todas as escolas públicas de Ensino Médio (EM) da cidade de Sobral – CE, que se formaram após o ano de 2002, totalizando 15 docentes em 13 escolas, objetivando-se discutir e analisar os aspectos relacionados ao ensino desses temas durante a graduação dos docentes, bem como suas implicações no EM. Foi observado que: as dificuldades que tiveram no estudo desses assuntos durante a graduação estão relacionadas à Matemática; o instrumento avaliativo mais recorrente foram as provas; e que o aspecto matemático da FMC foi o mais trabalhado pelos professores formadores, preterindo as vertentes conceitual, histórico e experimental desses assuntos, por exemplo.
